Abstract: A sheet post-processing apparatus includes a first conveying member, a processing tray, a first processing unit, a reference plate, an alignment member, a home-position detection unit, a drive unit, and a control portion. The alignment member has a shaft joined to a drive unit to rotate, and one or more alignment paddles protruding in a radial direction of the shaft. The control portion calculates a contact assumed interval in which the trailing end of the sheets may make contact with the alignment paddle and an interference timing at which the alignment paddle interferes with a carry-in path of the sheets. If the interference timing falls within the contact assumed interval, the control portion temporarily changes the rotation speed of the alignment member from a reference speed to shift the phase of the alignment paddle so that the interfere timing falls outside the contact assumed interval.

Abstract: A sheet postprocessing device includes a sheet conveying passage, a sheet tray, an inlet guide, a processing device, and a blowing device. Though the sheet conveying passage, a sheet on which an image has been formed is conveyed. The sheet tray is arranged downstream of the sheet conveying passage and has sheets stacked on it. The inlet guide is arranged at the downstream end of the sheet conveying passage and guides a sheet to the sheet tray. The processing device performs predetermined processing on a sheet stacked on the sheet tray. The blowing device blows air, from the upstream side in the sheet conveying direction, between the top face of the top-most sheet in the sheets stacked on the sheet tray and the bottom face of the subsequent sheet sent from the inlet guide into the sheet tray.

Abstract: A sheet post-processing device includes a conveying member, a processing tray, a processing section, a reference plate, an alignment member, a holder drive unit, and a control unit. The alignment member includes a paddle holder supported in a swingable manner along a carry-in direction, and an alignment paddle supported in a rotatable manner at a swinging end of the paddle holder. The holder drive unit moves the alignment paddle in a reciprocating manner, between a reference position to retreat the paddle part above a top sheet placed on the processing tray and an acting position to allow the paddle part to contact with a top surface of the sheet. When the number of the sheets carried in onto the processing tray is increasing, the control unit continuously moves the acting position of the alignment paddle in a direction separating from the processing tray.
