摘要:
A receiving well for use with a thermal dye sublimation printing apparatus is disclosed. The receiving well is used to receive cut sheets printed using the thermal dye sublimation printing. The receiving well includes two angled surfaces, referred to herein as ramps. The ramps are spaced apart from one another, and a waste area is positioned between the two ramps. The waste area captures the scrap or waste paper that can result from cutting the receiver media after printing. In some embodiments, both ramps slope down to the bottom surface of the receiving well. In other embodiments, one of the ramps is raised off the bottom surface of the receiving well at its lowest point. The waste area may also be offset such that it is closer to one side of the receiving well than the other.

A recording medium post-processing apparatus includes: a stacker which is stacked with a plurality of sheet-like recording media with images being recorded thereon; an receiving device which receives at least one of information regarding the images to be recorded on the recording media and information regarding the recording media; an alignment device which applies an external force to the recording media stacked on the stacker so as to align the recording media; a controller which sets, on the basis of the at least one information received by the receiving device, at least one of (i) a stacked-sheet number that is the number of the recording media, and (ii) a magnitude of the external force that is applied to the recording media and which controls the alignment device on the basis of the setted at least one of the stacked-sheet number and the magnitude of the external force.

A sheet processing apparatus of an aspect of the present invention includes stack trays provided with alignment members for applying an alignment process to sheets. At the time of discharging sheets, in a case where a sheet is already stacked on a first stack tray that has been decided on as a discharge destination for a sheet to be discharged, the sheet processing apparatus determines whether or not the width of the sheet to be discharged matches the width of the already-stacked sheet. In a case where the widths of the sheets do not match, a discharge destination for the sheet to be discharged is changed to a second stack tray.

A method and apparatus for use in document jogger system are provided. The apparatus includes a document detector that detects the presence and absence of documents in the pocket of the document jogger system and that automatically activates and deactivates the document jogger system when documents are present and absent, respectively. Detecting the presence and absence of documents in the pocket and automatically activating and deactivating, respectively, the document jogger system based on the detected conditions, allows an increase in overall “wall-clock” throughput and a reduction in operator intervention to be realized. The increased throughput and the reduced operator intervention improve the overall quality of document processing and allow overall document processing costs to be reduced. The apparatus may also include one or more visual indicators and associated electrical circuitry for providing a visual indication of the status of the document jogger system.

A sheet finisher for executing preselected processing with a sheet introduced thereinto from an image forming apparatus and then discharging the sheet is disclosed. The sheet finisher includes a stacking device configured to temporarily stack sheets sequentially delivered thereto. Jogger fences jog each sheet within the stacking device. A stapler staples the sheet stack jogged in the stacking device. The stapler is supported by a guide shaft such it is movable along the guide shaft in a direction perpendicular to the direction of sheet conveyance and angularly movable in a direction perpendicular to the direction of guide.

A method used for rounding the corners of a pile of sheets. Air is injected between the sheets in the pile to create a lubricating fluid film between the sheets; at least one of the corners of the pile is placed in abutment against two reference surfaces formed facing at least one corner of the pile, and the four cutting devices corresponding to each corner are actuated.

A corrugated sheet stacking and feeding apparatus is provided in which stacks of sheets are fed to the unstacking apparatus and are raised to an elevated position in which blocks are progressively removed from the top of the stack and pushed and fed onto an inverting carriage that receives the blocks and pivots the blocks vertically upward and then to an inverted position over a feed conveyor. While the block of sheets are raised to a vertical orientation, alignment elements move inward along the lateral sides to align the lateral edges of the sheets with respect to each other and to laterally shift the block to align the block with a central feed axis. The block then is lowered onto the feed conveyor and moved forward through a shingling gate to feed the sheets progressively in a shingled fashion to a discharge end of the conveyor.

Air forced through holes in a horizontally disposed platform is used to support a disoriented stack of rectangular sheets on a thin layer of air. The platform supports L-shaped manifolds disposed to be located about a supported stack of sheets. Each of the manifolds includes a chamber coupled to a fluid source and nozzle arrays communicating with the chambers to provide jets of air directed so as to impinge the edges of a stack of sheets pneumatically supported by the platform. The nozzles of each array are pyramidically disposed to provide an inverse relationship between jets impinging on a sheet of a stack and its distance above the platform. The jets provide air lubrication between adjacent sheets of the stack. Two of the manifolds are translatable and may be moved against the stack to tamp and align the air lubricated sheets thereof.

A TOGGER FOR ALIGNING STACKED SHEETS OF PAPER OR THE LIKE COMPRISING A TITLED TABLE AND A PAIR OF JOGGER ARMS PIVOTALLY MOUNTED TO THE TABLE. THE JOGGER ARMS CARRY PADDLE PORTIONS WHICH EXTEND ABOVE THE TABLETOP ALONG TWO ADJACENT SIDES OF THE TABLE. FOLLOWERS ON EACH ARM ARE OPERATIVELY ENGAGED BY A MULTILOBED CAM WHICH CAUSES THE
ARMS AND ASSOCIATED PADDLES TO PIVOT IN SYNCHRONISM AND BRING INTO ALIGNMENT SHEETS STACKED ON THE TABLETOP. A PROP MAY BE PROVIDED ON THE TABLETOP TO FACILITATE THE ALIGNMENT OF CROSS-STACKED SHEETS.
摘要:
An apparatus for vibrating stacks of paper stock or the like into aligned relationship with one another including a paper supporting table flexibly suspended above a suitable framework. The table has a shaft rotatably affixed thereto and the shaft is provided with adjustable offcenter weights at its extremity. Rotation of the shaft imparts vibration to the table, the degree of such vibration depending upon the adjustment of the weights. The apparatus is constructed such that the table may be tilted about the axis of the shaft and, thus, the drive motor may be positioned on the support framework without necessitating readjustment of the driving mechanism each time the table angle is readjusted.
