摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a recording head, a controller, a first detector, and a second detector. The controller calculates a viscosity of ink in each of nozzles based on a temperature, a humidity, and an elapsed time. The controller determines, among the nozzles, a nozzle in which the viscosity is equal to or higher than a threshold to be a high-viscosity nozzle. The controller acquires non-ejection information indicating an ejection disabled nozzle that is disabled to eject the ink. The controller acquires a viscosity of the ink in the ejection disabled nozzle. The controller calculates an average value of viscosities of the ink in the plurality of nozzles. The controller compares the viscosity of the ink in the ejection disabled nozzle with the average value of the viscosities of the ink in the nozzles. The controller determines whether or not to change a contribution value based on a comparison result.

摘要: A processor determines an image defect in a test image obtained through an image reading process performed on an output sheet output by an image forming apparatus. The processor derives a vertical data string that is composed of data about horizontal representative values serving as representative values of a plurality of pixel values in each line in a horizontal direction in the test image. Moreover, the processor determines the presence or absence of at least one periodicity set in advance in the vertical data string by performing frequency analysis on the vertical data string. Furthermore, the processor determines the occurrence or non-occurrence and the cause of periodic density unevenness serving as a type of the image defect according to the determination result on the periodicity.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of image forming units, a developing voltage power supply, a density detection device, a current detection unit, and a control unit. The plurality of image forming units form an image and substantially same development conditions are set to evenly divide an image density among the image forming units. The control unit detects whether there is an anomaly in a developing device, based on a toner charge amount calculated based on a DC component of developing current when a reference image is formed on an image carrier by each of the developing devices and a density of the reference image. When an anomaly is detected in any of the developing devices, the control unit inhibits use of the image forming unit including the developing device, and resets the development conditions to evenly divide the image density among the usable image forming units.

摘要: According to one embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion, and a control portion. The image forming portion includes an image carrier, a charging device, and a cleaning device. The charging device includes a charging roller which contacts a surface of the image carrier. The cleaning device includes a cleaning blade, and an adjustment portion. The cleaning blade slidably contacts the surface of the image carrier. The adjustment portion adjusts a linear pressure of the cleaning blade exerted on the surface of the image carrier. The control portion executes, when a rate of increase of an outer layer resistance value of the charging roller caused by a decrease in the function of the cleaning blade is greater than or equal to a first rate, linear pressure adjustment control of controlling the adjustment portion to increase the linear pressure of the cleaning blade.

The processor extracts a vertical stripe part extending along a sub scanning direction in the test image. Furthermore, the processor determines which of predetermined two types of cause candidates is a cause of the vertical stripe part, based on a distribution of a pixel value sequence along a main scanning direction that crosses the sub scanning direction, in a target part including the vertical stripe part in the test image.
