Abstract: A post-processing device includes: a tray; a sheet output section; a stapler provided movably in a direction perpendicular to a direction of discharge of a stack of paper sheets and configured to apply staples to a plurality of locations on the stack of paper sheets loaded on the tray; a sheet stack shifting section configured to shift the stack of paper sheets loaded on the tray in the direction perpendicular to the direction of discharge of the stack; and an operation control section configured to allow the stapler to apply a staple to a first location on the stack of paper sheets and then allow the stapler to move to a position corresponding to a location to be stapled next while allowing the sheet stack shifting section to shift the stack in a direction opposite to a direction of the movement of the stapler.

Abstract: A drying apparatus which dries a medium on which an image is formed with ink while conveying the medium includes a conveyance part, a heating part, a measurement part and a controller. The conveyance part conveys the medium in a predetermined conveyance direction. The heating part supplies energy to the image on the sheet conveyed in the conveyance part and dries the image. The measurement part measures a value accompanied with moisture contained in the medium. The controller estimates an amount of moisture contained in the medium based on the value measured by the measurement part, and controls at least one of the conveyance part and the heating part so as to change an amount of the energy supplied to the image based on the estimated amount of moisture.

Abstract: The controller of an inkjet recording apparatus supplies a recording medium onto the conveyor belt with a pair of registration rollers based on a detection result of the trailing edge of the recording medium by a first detection sensor and a detection result of an opening by a second detection sensor. The controller determines whether the recording medium is being placed on the conveyor belt coinciding with the opening that is moved due to the traveling of the conveyor belt, and based on the determination result, the controller controls the recording head to execute flushing and the pair of registration rollers to supply a subsequent recording medium onto the conveyor belt.

Abstract: A controller recognizes a remaining level of sheets in a sheet feeding cassette. The controller counts the required time after a sheet feeding rotary member starts to rotate until a sheet feeding sensor senses the tip end of a sheet. The controller judges whether a sheet feeding delay has occurred based on the required time. The controller calculates the incidence of sheet feeding delays for each sheet remaining level.

Abstract: A finisher includes an ejection port, a stacking tray, a light-emitting element, a light-receiving element, a communication section that performs data communication with an image forming apparatus and acquires a coverage rate of paper stacked on the stacking tray, and a paper-amount determination section that determines whether the amount of paper on the stacking tray exceeds a predetermined stack capacity of the stacking tray by comparing a predetermined threshold value with the amount of light received by the light-receiving element. The paper-amount determination section corrects the threshold value by using the coverage rate acquired by the communication section, compares the corrected threshold value with the amount of the light received by the light-receiving element, and determines that the amount of the paper stacked on the stacking tray exceeds the stack capacity of the stacking tray if the light amount is equal to or greater than the corrected threshold value.
