Abstract: Provided is an image processing apparatus that improves the performance when performing image processing accompanying an analysis. An image acquisition unit acquires processing image data for performing processing. A normal image processing unit performs normal image processing for normal output on the processing image data acquired by the image acquisition unit and outputs the normal image data. An analysis image processing unit performs analysis image processing accompanied by analysis in parallel with the normal image processing by the normal image processing unit and outputs the analysis image data. A merge processing unit merges the normal image data output by the normal image processing unit and the analysis image data output by the analysis image processing unit and outputs print data for printing.

Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus that speeds up the performance in the auto color mode. A document reading unit reads a document and outputs image data. A document determination unit temporarily determines the document as a monochrome document when the ratio of the color components of the document is equal to or less than the monochrome threshold value at a specific timing after the document reading unit starts reading the document. An image processing unit performs monochrome image processing on the image data. A document determination unit determines that the document is a color document when the ratio of the color components of the image data is equal to or more than the color threshold value while the image processing for the monochrome document is being performed.

Abstract: Provided is an image processing apparatus that utilizes the storage capacity of a ring buffer. A ring buffer is set in the storage unit. A page area setting unit allocates a maximum size page area in page units of the job in the ring buffer set in the storage unit. A band storing unit stores band data while compressing the band data in the page area allocated by the page area setting unit. An image processing unit performs image processing of the band data stored by the band storing unit. Then, the page area setting unit determines whether or not the page has high possibility to be reused, and when the page has high possibility to be reused, the page area setting unit allocates the page area at the head of the ring buffer.

Abstract: Provided is an image processing apparatus that efficiently uses the ring buffer. A ring buffer is set in the storage unit. A page area setting unit allocates a maximum size page area in the page unit of the job in the ring buffer. A band storing unit stores band data while compressing the band data in the page area allocated by the page area setting unit. An image processing unit performs image processing on the band data. A temporary deletion unit sets the page area including the band data into a temporary deletion state in which overwriting is possible at a specific timing. Here, when the band data of the page is needed again and the temporarily deleted page area is not overwritten, the page area setting unit reuses the page area.

Abstract: Provided is an image processing apparatus for increasing the speed of pixel processing of index colors. Abstract: A Toner Saver Feature (TSF) that enables adjustments in toner throughputs thus enhancing a user's control on toner consumption and thereby increasing life of cartridges in printing devices is disclosed. The disclosed TSF is configured to change throughput for each of the plurality of colorants based on at least one Preset Colorant Saver Configuration (Preset) that contains a set of Throughput Rate Reduction (TRR) values for each colorant, and wherein the at least one preset colorant saver configuration is user configurable. TSF enables a user to change the set of TRR values for each of the plurality of colorants individually through a user interface, and save the changed values as one of the Presets. The reduction values get implemented in all modes of printing wherein factory set throughput rates for the current mode get further reduced based on the selected Preset.

Abstract: The present application is directed to system and method for pre-generation of page description language (PDL) for printing. Aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods, systems, and computer readable mediums for pre-generating a page description language (PDL) print job for documents for printing. Such pre-generation of the PDL achieves almost instantaneous and efficient printing experience. The methods, systems, and computer readable mediums by pre-generation of the PDL achieves faster printing turnaround time from the time when user clicks “OK” to print the document to the time user picks up the print out is required. The method for pre-generating a PDL print job for a document for printing can determine an instance to pre-generate the PDL print job for the document before the manual election for printing, and issuing a printing instruction in response to a manual election, to send of the pre-generated PDL print job to a printing device.

Abstract: A system employs a trained model to detect artifact(s) associated with artifact type(s) appearing in a reproduction of a source image (a test image). The system determines differences between the test image and the source image and outputs probabilities that the artifact(s) in the test image are associated with each of the artifact type(s). A dataset for training the model includes: (i) a reference category including reference image(s) without any artifacts; and (ii) artifact categories, each corresponding to a respective one of the artifact types and including noised images associated with the respective artifact type. Each noised image includes one of the reference images and an artifact associated with the respective artifact type. The model is trained to detect the artifact type(s) by providing the model with the dataset and causing the model to process differences between each noised image and the reference image in the noised image.

Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus that speeds up the auto color mode. The image forming apparatus includes a document reading unit that reads a document including a plurality of pages and outputs image data and can determine whether the document is a color document or a monochrome document. In the document read by the document reading unit, when monochrome pages of the first specific number of pages or more continues in the same job, a document determining unit predicts that the subsequent page is also determined to be a monochrome document. When the document is predicted by the document determination unit to be a monochrome document, an image processing unit performs monochrome image processing for the monochrome document on the image data immediately after reading.
