Provided is an image forming apparatus that reflects setup information according to an intention of a user. The image forming apparatus is operational from each of a mobile terminal and an operation panel. Accordingly, the image forming apparatus has an operation determination processing part. The operation determination part, when the start key in the operation panel is pressed, determines to reflect either of setup information of the mobile terminal or setup information of an operation panel.

An image forming system includes a mobile terminal apparatus and an image forming apparatus. The mobile terminal apparatus displays a captured image of an operation panel of the image forming apparatus and transmits, in response to a user operation on the captured image, captured image data indicating the captured image and operation position data indicating a position of the user operation to the image forming apparatus. Based on the captured image data and the operation position data received from the mobile terminal apparatus, the image forming apparatus identifies an indirectly operated part of the operation panel, and executes an action corresponding to the identified part.

The display controller causes the display unit to display a list showing names of data transfer destinations stored in the storage unit, when causing the display unit to display a screen urging a user to select a data transfer destination. The controller causes the data transfer unit, when the touch panel receives from the user, in a case where a plurality of the destinations are selected out of the list, a predetermined determination instruction applicable to a data transfer method, with respect to one transfer method selected for one selected destination, to transfer the data to the selected destinations, using the one transfer method as the method of the data transfer to other destinations than the one destination.

An image forming system includes an information terminal for storing therein a captured image, and an image forming apparatus for generating image data of a job page including a read image. The information terminal accepts an operation of laying out the captured image in the setting page and transmits layout information to the image forming apparatus. In order to discriminate the read image corresponding to the captured image as an object image and generate image data of the job page, the image forming apparatus makes a layout of the object image in the job page similar to the layout of the captured image corresponding to the object image in the setting page.
