    Abstract: The image forming apparatus includes a printing device, an image reading device, a job management unit, and a document detection processing unit. The image reading device reads an image in a predetermined range in which a document can be arranged, as a read image. The job management unit acquires a front side image and a back side image of a card document, and prints the front side image and the back side image on both sides of a print sheet using the printing device. The document detection processing unit specifies a document image area of the front side image and a document image area of the back side image. The job management unit selects a larger size as the common image area size when a difference in size between the document image areas of the front side and the back side exceeds a predetermined threshold.

    Abstract: According to a processing period for OCR processing of image data for character recognition for a given page, the image processing section determines whether or not to generate image data for character recognition for a next page subsequent to the given page in accordance with an image quality setting different from that set for the given page. Upon determining generation in accordance with an image quality setting different from that set for the given page, the image processing section determines the image quality setting for the next page based on document type and size of the given page of the original document. The image processing section generates image data for character recognition for the next page in accordance with the determined image quality setting.

    Abstract: The image forming system includes a user terminal device, an image forming apparatus, and a management server. The management server acquires document data from the user terminal device, specifies a current consumable item remaining amount in the image forming apparatus based on latest consumable item remaining amount information for the image forming apparatus, specifies a consumable item requirement amount in a case where a document based on the document data is printed by the image forming apparatus, sends a warning message to the user terminal device if the consumable item requirement amount is greater than the current consumable item remaining amount, and stores the document data so as to be downloadable to the second location if the consumable item requirement amount is equal to or less than the current consumable item remaining amount.
