Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for aligning user interface elements arranged in multiple columns in a user interface. In one aspect, a method includes identifying a group of columns in a user interface, where each column in the group includes one or more user interface elements arranged in a sequence from a top of the column to a bottom of the column; comparing heights of first sequences of one or more user interface elements in a first column to heights of second sequences of one or more user interface elements in a second column; and adjusting the heights of the first sequences to align the first sequences with the second sequences by adjusting the heights of user interface elements in the first sequences, where adjustments to each user interface element in the first sequences are each less than a threshold adjustment value.
Abstract:
A system includes receiving information regarding a first keyword associated with a user, where the first keyword is usable by a content distribution system to select content for distribution based on keywords associated with the user. The system also includes obtaining an attribute associated with the user; identifying at least one keyword category corresponding to the attribute; and selecting at least one alternative keyword associated with the at least one identified keyword category. The selecting may include consulting a taxonomy database to identify alternative keywords that are relevant to the first keyword. The system also includes ranking the at least one alternative keyword according to a ranking rule associated with the at least one keyword category associated with the at least one alternative keyword; and providing information associated with the ranked at least one alternative keyword to the user for selection by the user.

Abstract:
An optical device is provided for electrically changing light beam properties, comprising an electro-optical (EO) material positioned in a light beam path, a metal plate to which the EO material is attached, and a first soft metal layer attached to at least to the first surface of the EO material. A method is also provided for dampening resonant vibration in an EO material, comprising forming a bar from an EO material, providing a metal plate, and soldering a first surface of the EO bar to a surface of the metal plate with a soft metal alloy.
Abstract:
An application of 2,3-dihydro-3 hydroxymethyl-6-amino-[1,4]-benzoxazine in the preparation of drugs inducing embryonic stem cells to differentiate to vascular endothelial cells, wherein the concentration of the 2,3-dihydro-3 hydroxymethyl-6-amino-[1,4]-benzoxazine in the preparation of drugs effectively inducing mouse embryonic stem cells to differentiate to vascular endothelial cells is 1˜20 μM. The 2,3-dihydro-3 hydroxymethyl-6-amino-[1,4]-benzoxazine provided by the invention lays foundation for preparing and developing drugs inducing embryonic stem cells to differentiate to vascular endothelial cells, can be used as an effective research tool of embryonic stem cells, and can be used for researching on embryonic stem cell differentiation and new molecular mechanisms of blood vessel formation.
Abstract:
Head smut is one of the most devastating diseases in maize, causing severe yield loss worldwide. The present invention describes the fine-mapping of a major QTL conferring resistance to head smut. Markers useful for breeding, and methods for conferring head smut resistance are described. Nucleic acid sequence from the genetic locus conferring head smut resistance is disclosed. Genes encoding proteins conferring head smut resistance are disclosed.
Abstract:
A method and system for identifying documents relevant to a query that specifies a part of speech is provided. A retrieval system receives from a user an input query that includes a word and a part of speech. Upon receiving an input query that includes a word and a part of speech, the retrieval system identifies documents with a sentence that includes that word collocated with a word that is used as that part of speech. The retrieval system displays to the user an indication of the identified documents.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a method for indicating a modulation mode in HSDPA, comprising the following steps: a NodeB receiving capability information reported by a terminal, if determining that the terminal supports 64QAM modulation mode, determining a transmission block size, a modulation mode and code channel resource to be indicated based on an capability constraint condition and the capability information, and if the determined modulation mode is the same as a basic modulation mode satisfying requirement of the transmission block size, setting modulation mode information of a HS-SCCH as 0, otherwise setting the modulation mode information of the HS-SCCH as 1, and then sending the HS-SCCH to the terminal. Application of the present invention is compatible with a UE device which supports or does not support 64QAM high order modulation, without changing the current frame structure of the HS-SCCH, thereby achieving functional support of the 64QAM modulation mode.
Abstract:
The claimed subject matter provides systems and/or techniques that effectuate combining domain-tuned search systems. The system can include mechanisms that obtain queries, written descriptions, or illustrative web-pages regarding a particular area of interest, and generate a definition related to the area of interest. The definition contains a list of paths with associated weights employed to identify an pre-established first domain-tuned search system related to the area of interest. The first domain-tuned search system thereafter can be combined with a second domain-tuned search system related to another area of interest and presented to a user for utilization in re-ranking generic search results to be specific to the first and second domains of interest if combined, or to only the first domain if weights for the second domain are logically subtracted.
