    摘要: A simulation system for an automotive internal combustion engine is designed for simulating a transition state for varying output torque according to variation of the engine driving condition. The system comprises a power plant which incorporates relatively high inertia, and means for compensating high inertia for achieving low inertia equivalent to the automotive internal combustion engine, an engine characteristics generator receiving predetermined engine operation parameter simulated data for deriving control signal commanding output torque of said power plant according to a predetermined engine output torque variation characteristics which is set in terms of said engine operation parameter simulated data, and means, cooperative with said engine characteristics generator and responsive to a torque variation command demanding said output torque from a first value to a second value, for setting a predetermined torque variation characteristics for varying said control signal value according to an elapsed time so that output torque varies from said first value to said second value within a predetermined torque variation transition period.

    摘要: A simulation system for an automotive internal combustion engine is suitable for simulating an engine operation for performing a bench test for an engine associated vehicular component, such as an automatic power transmission, an automatic transaxle, a differential gear box, and so forth. The system comprises a power plant which incorporates a relatively high inertia, and means for compensating the high inertia for achieving a low inertia equivalent to the automotive internal combustion engine; an engine characteristics generator receiving predetermined engine operation parameter simulated data for deriving a control signal commanding an output torque of said power plant according to a predetermined engine output torque variation characteristic which is set in terms of said engine operation parameter simulated data, and means, responsive to a simulated engine environmental condition indicative data, for deriving a correction value based on said environmental condition for correcting said control signal.

    摘要: A system and method for testing a specimen such as a vehicular power transmission (e.g., an automatic transmission) and analyzing an engine output characteristic of an engine connected to the power transmission in which at least a first revolutional speed on an input or output shaft of the power transmission and a first output torque of the power transmission are measured when the engine operating parameters indicate a predetermined value with the power transmission connected to the engine. A second revolutional speed on the input or output shaft of the power transmission and a second output torque of the power transmission are measured when a low inertia driving unit having the same characteristics as the engine is connected any driven with a power transmission under the same operating parameters described above. A first drive torque of the low inertia driving unit is then measured, a third revolutional speed on the input or output shaft of the power transmission and a third output torque of the power transmission are measured when a predetermined time has passed and when the same low inertia driving unit is connected and driven in the same way, and a second drive torque of the lower inertia driving unit is measured when difference values between the second and third revolutional speeds and second and third output torque fall within a predetermined range. The second drive torque is estimated as the output characteristic of the engine connected to the power transmission.

    摘要: A simulation system for an automotive internal combustion engine includes a low inertia power generator which includes a direct current motor and a speed increasing device. An engine characteristic generator derives a first signal indicative of a first output torque to be derived as an output of the low inertia power generator. The first output torque is equivalent to that of the engine. A first compensation torque is derived for compensation in view of a set engine inertia. A second compensation torque is further derived for compensation in view of a set inertia of the low inertia power generator. A third compensation torque is further derived based on the first and second compensation torques for compensating a differential in inertia between the engine and the low inertia power generator. A control signal is derived based on the first signal and the third compensation torque. The control signal is fed to the low inertia power generator for controlling operation of the direct current motor so as to provide a second output torque as the output of the low inertia power generator. The second output torque is equivalent to the first output torque. Accordingly, an output characteristic equivalent to that of the engine is provided as the output of the low inertia power generator.

    摘要: An simulated engine characteristic control system for transmission transient performance tests for automotive vehicles comprises a motor for driving an input shaft of the tested transmission, a pick-up for detecting revolution of the motor, a simulating circuit for simulating an opening angle of the throttle of the engine to be associated with the tested transmission or the intake manifold pressure of the engine, an engine characteristic generator for generating a torque command signal according to predetermined engine revolution/torque characteristic curves, in response to the signals from the pick-up and the simulating circuit, a torque/current transducer for transducing the torque command signal to an analog current command signal according to a predetermined torque/current characteristic, and means for compensating the current command signal in consideration of a torque component occurring at an axial moment of inertia of the rotating member of the motor during acceleration or deceleration of the motor, and a field characteristic of a field coil of the motor, representing the output torque/revolution of the motor. The motor is drivingly controlled in response to a current command signal compensated through the compensating means.
