Pouring holes or slits are provided for inside pouring. Length of the slit in the cast widthwise direction is preliminarily determined so as to maintain temperature distribution in molten bath uniformly. Start of a continuous casting operation is facilitated by movable baffer plates disposed at open ends of the horizontal passage.

    摘要: A twin-roll type continuous casting machine for fabricating a metal sheet from molten metal supplied from a ladle comprises a pair of spaced rolls, side weirs disposed on each roll in the lateral direction of the roll, a tundish for reserving the molten metal and supplying the molten metal through a feeder, which is provided above the rolls and below the tundish, to form a melt pool on the upper side of the gap between the rolls so as to fabricate the metal sheet through the gap between the rolls, a pressurizing chamber formed between the rolls and the tundish for gas-pressurizing the melt surface of the melt pool. The arrangement allows the ladle to easily supply the molten metal to the tundish and ensures easy maintenance of the tundish.

Passages (26) are interconnected in groups of three to form three pass zig-zag water flow channels for flow of water back and forth between the roll ends. The roll ends are notched to form outwardly facing shoulders (44) for engagement with casting pool confining plates (10). Cooling water flows to and from the passages (26) through radial passages (35, 36) in roll end walls (27, 28) in the vicinity of the shoulders (44).

    摘要: The present invention relates to a synthetic resin composition for obtaining a molded article which has a metallic appearance like the brilliance of Milky Way, and is used in OA instruments, AV instruments cameras, telephones, electric shavers, wheel caps for automobiles, vessels for cosmetics, and the like. The synthetic resin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin, and as a metallic pigment, from 0.2 to 5 parts by weight of lustrous metal particles having an average particle diameter (maximum length) of from 50 to 800 .mu.m, and a ratio .sigma./x of a standard deviation of a particle diameter (.sigma.) to an average particle diameter (x) of 0.1 or less, or from 0.2 to 10 parts by weight of lustrous metal fine pieces having an average particle diameter of from 50 to 800 .mu.m, and an average shape ratio (thickness/average particle diameter) of from 1/100 to 1/8. A molded article obtained from such a synthetic resin composition exhibits an excellent metallic appearance, has an extremely excellent weld appearance property, and can be used in a high-grade molded product which is complicated and is liable to cause a weld line or a flow pattern, such as chassis for OA instruments, chassis for AV instruments, exterior covers for cameras, wheel caps for automobiles, and the like, which have not been attained by the prior art.
