摘要： In a cellular mobile telecommunications system, upon a hand-off request signal generated by a mobile station, the base station control office transfers traffic data to both the base station to which the mobile station is presently connected and another base station to which the present base station is adjacent. A hand-off order message is transferred from the present base station toward the mobile station. The control office is adapted to control the adjacent base station to transmit the hand-off order message if it fails to receive a hand-off confirmation from the mobile station.

The packet transmission portion transmits a plurality of packets to a receiving terminal. The Block ACK receiving portion receives a Block ACK that is received from the receiving terminal after the plurality of the packets are transmitted. The retransmission control portion determines a plurality of the packets to be consecutively transmitted, based on the Block ACK. The transmission rate revision portion revises a transmission rate that is used when the plurality of the packets are consecutively transmitted from a value that is normally used in accordance with a wireless channel quality.

A mode determining unit of a base station executes calculations to obtain a received signal quality difference between a received signal quality at the current stage and that of a past stage at a terminal, and supplies the received signal quality difference to a control unit. The control unit controls a power setting unit based on the received signal quality difference to control a transmission power of a signal transmitted from an adaptive coding and modulation unit. The present invention can be applied to a base station of a portable telephone communication network.
