    摘要： In view of the connection of a home network to an external network via a home router, using a mechanism that access from the same network is provided with a source MAC address whereas a source address field is rewritten to a MAC address of the router in the case of external access via the router, whether or not access is made from the home network is automatically identified by comparing a MAC address of a device on the other side of communication with a MAC address of the home router. It is capable of suitably managing so that a client terminal uses the contents legitimately acquired on a home server within the scope of private use allowed by the copyright law.

    摘要： In a configuration allowing a client to be designated as a proxy server, the proxy server to register an external client to serve as a member client and the member to utilize a content, a content-utilization management server designates a client as a proxy server whereas the proxy server checks an external client connected to an external network and registers the external client to serve as a member client having a right to utilize a content managed by the content-utilization management server. Then, the proxy server gives a license to the external client as a right to utilize such a content. Thus, the external client not connected to a local network of the content-utilization management server is also capable of utilizing the content based on the license.

    摘要： A method of information processing in a server/client system including a server for storing content and a client for receiving from the server and storing copy content of the content stored in the server. The method includes the steps of: the server generating at least either a content-ID list storing content-IDs corresponding to content for which use-expiration-date updating is permitted out of the copy content stored in the client or a content-ID list storing content-IDs corresponding to content for which use-expiration-date updating is not permitted, transmitting the content-ID list to the client; and the client selectively performing update processing of use-expiration date out of the copy content stored in that client or invalidation processing of the copy content stored in that client based on the content-ID list received from the server.
