The invention provides a propylene random block copolymer (A) that has a melt flow rate from 0.1 to 100 g/10 min and a melting point from 100 to 155° C. and includes 90 to 60% by weight of a portion insoluble (Dinsol) in n-decane at room temperature and 10 to 40% by weight of a portion soluble (Dsol) in n-decane at room temperature, wherein the Dinsol satisfies the following requirements (1) through (3) and the Dsol satisfies the following requirements (4) through (6). The invention further provides molded articles such as sheets, films, injection molded articles, hollow molded articles, injection blow molded articles and fibers, which are formed of the propylene random block copolymer (A) or a propylene resin composition containing the propylene random block copolymer (A). (1) The molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) obtained by GPC of the Dinsol is from 1.0 to 3.5, (2) the content of skeletons derived from ethylene in the Dinsol is from 0.5 to 13% by mole, (3) the total amount of 2,1- and 1,3-propylene units in the Dinsol is 0.2% by mole or less, (4) the molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) obtained by GPC of the Dsol is from 1.0 to 3.5, (5) the intrinsic viscosity [η] in decalin at 135° C. of the Dsol is from 1.5 to 4 dl/g and (6) the content of skeletons derived from ethylene in the Dsol is from 15 to 35% by mole.

Provided is a film for thermal sterilization packaging which is excellent in a total balance of characteristics such a transparency, an impact resistance, a heat sealing property, a blocking resistance, a heat resistance and the like.The film for thermal sterilization packaging according to the present invention is characterized by comprising: an outer layer containing a propylene/ethylene block copolymer (A) which has a melt flow rate (MFR; ASTM D1238, 230° C., load: 2.16 kg) in the range of 1 to 10 g/10 minutes and a melting point in the range of 150 to 170° C. measured by means of a differential scanning colorimeter. (DSC) and which is constituted from 90 to 80% by weight of a part (Dinsol) insoluble in n-decane at room temperature satisfying the specific requisites and 10 to 20% by weight of a part (Dsol) soluble in n-decane at room temperature satisfying the specific requisites and an intermediate layer or an outer layer containing a propylene/ethylene block copolymer (B) which is not the same as the above propylene/ethylene block copolymer (A).

The invention provides a nonwoven fabric of crimped conjugate fibers comprising (1) a first propylene-based polymer component and (2) a second propylene-based polymer component, and a laminate of the nonwoven fabric and other nonwoven fabrics or porous films, in which the melting point of the component (1) is higher by at least 20° C. than that of the component (2) a ratio of the two components in melt flow rate (component (2)/component (1)) is in the range of 0.8 to 1.2, and the component ratio expressed by (1)/(2) (by weight) is 50/50 to 5/95. The nonwoven fabric has an excellent bulkiness and softness, is excellent in terms of spinnability and fuzzing resistance, and can be spun by a conventional melt spinning. The laminate has further improved water impermeability and surface smoothness. The nonwoven fabric and the laminate using the same may both be used for disposable diapers or sanitary napkins.

The conjugate fiber nonwoven fabric of the present invention comprises conjugate fibers, preferably core-sheath-type or side-by-side-type conjugate fibers, composed of a polyethylene-based resin (A) having a higher melting point in the range of 120 to 135° C. and a lower melting point in the range of 90 to 125° C., which is lower than the above higher melting point at least by 5° C., and a high-melting point resin (B) whose melting point is higher than that of the above polyethylene-based resin (A) by 10° C. or more, the component ratio by weight of the polyethylene-based resin (A) to the high-melting point resin (B) (A/B) being in the range of 50/50 to 10/90, and the polyethylene-based resin (A) forming at least part of the surface of the fiber longitudinally continuously. This conjugate fiber nonwoven fabric has an excellent softness and a high strength, and it is suitably used as a nonwoven fabric for sanitary materials.

A flexible nonwoven fabric comprising conjugate long fibers of sheath-core type comprising a core of a resin having a high melting point and a polyethylene sheath is provided. The fiber has a weight ratio of the resin of the high melting point to the polyethylene of from 5/95 to 20/80 and a fineness of up to 3.0 denier, and the nonwoven fabric has a sum of bending resistance in machine and transverse directions as measured by Clark method (method C in JIS L1096) of up to 80 mm. The flexible nonwoven fabric has excellent texture and frictional resistance. A laminate comprising such flexible nonwoven fabric and a gas-permeable film is also provided.
