摘要: A method for execution by a computer of a database management system includes obtaining a dataset that includes a set of data records, where the data set is associated with a set of data characteristics. The method includes executing a selected ranked analytical calculation of a ranked list of analytical calculations on the dataset to produce an analytical calculation result, where the ranked list of analytical calculations is generated by ranking a list of analytical calculations that are able to be executed on the dataset, based on a set of analytical calculation characteristics associated with the list of analytical calculations, where an analytical calculation characteristic of the set of analytical calculation characteristics indicates an estimated execution time to perform an analytical calculation of the list of analytical calculations, and the selected ranked analytical calculation is selected based on the set of data characteristics to produce the selected ranked analytical calculation.

摘要: Acoustic inspection productivity can be enhanced using techniques to perform compression of acquired acoustic data, such as data corresponding to elementary A-scan or other time-series representations of received acoustic echo data. In various approaches described herein, time-series data can be decimated for efficient storage or transmission. A representation of the time-series data can be reconstructed, such as by using a Fourier transform-based up-sampling technique or a convolutional interpolation filter, as illustrative examples. The techniques described herein can be used for a variety of different acoustic measurement techniques that involve acquisition of time-series data (e.g., A-Scan data). Such techniques include Full Matrix Capture (FMC) applications, plane wave imaging (PWI), or PAUT, as illustrative examples.

摘要: Methods for visualizing directed graphs and their hierarchies are provided that completely depart from known approaches. The methods compute readable hierarchical visualizations that contain the complete reachability information of a graph. In one embodiment, only the necessary edges are drawn in the drawing, thus reducing the visual complexity of the resulting drawing. The methods require only polynomial time. In one aspect, the vertices of the graph are (vertically) partitioned into paths/channels, having cross edges that connect various vertices in different paths/channels. A corresponding graph drawing method is implemented in principally two steps: (a) a cycle removal step (if the graph contains cycles) and (b) a channel decomposition and hierarchical drawing step. A corresponding framework may offer a suite of solutions depending on requirements, does not introduce any dummy vertices, and keeps the vertices of a path/channel vertically aligned.

摘要: A processor-implemented data processing method includes: normalizing input data of an activation function comprising a division operation; determining dividend data corresponding to a dividend of the division operation by reading, from a memory, a value of a first lookup table addressed by the normalized input data; determining divisor data corresponding to a divisor of the division operation by accumulating the dividend data; and determining output data of the activation function corresponding to an output of the division operation obtained by reading, from the memory, a value of a second lookup table addressed by the dividend data and the divisor data.

摘要: Various embodiments relate to a fault detection system and method for polynomial operations, including: selecting a plurality of evaluation points; evaluating a first polynomial at the plurality of evaluation points to produce first results; applying a first function to the first polynomial to produce a second polynomial; evaluating the second polynomial at the plurality of evaluation points second results; evaluating a second scalar function on the first results to produce third results; comparing the second results to the third results; and performing a polynomial operation using the second polynomial when the second results match the third results.
