摘要： The present invention aims at restoring backup data in a predetermined order and avoiding damage from being given to the system even when the backup data are destroyed. Flags Ferr and Feeprom and a variable i stored in a DRAM are initialized (S1 to S3). When the variable i is smaller than the number n of EEPROMs (hereinafter referred to as “PROM(s)”), the ID code of a PROM in question is read and loaded into the DRAM (S4 to S6). When the variable i equals the number n, the variable i is cleared (S7). Then, a variable j is initialized (S9), and it is determined whether or not each PROM ID stored in the DRAM matches with a mask ROM ID until the variable j becomes greater than the number n of PROMs (S11). If the answer is “No”, the variable j is incremented (S13), while if “Yes,” a number corresponding to the variable j then assumed is loaded into the DRAM as the flag Feeprom (S14). Data in the PROM in question is transferred to an area of the DRAM in which is stored the PROM ID matching with the mask ROM ID.

摘要： A sheet conveying apparatus permits keeping predetermined sheet intervals, even when sheet conveyance is temporarily discontinued and then resumed, after resumption of conveyance. The sheet conveying apparatus has a first roller which feeds sheets at predetermined sheet intervals, and a second roller which conveys a plurality of sheet fed from the first roller. After temporarily discontinuing conveyance of the plurality of sheets, conveyance of the plurality of sheets is resumed by use of the first roller and the second roller. The variation in the sheet interval caused when temporarily discontinuing sheet conveyance is corrected upon resumption of sheet conveyance.

摘要： Timing information for use to determine the timing to discharge a sheet from an image forming apparatus is transmitted. The timing information is relayed, by being edited repeatedly, from a first sheet processing apparatus connected directly with the image forming apparatus to a second sheet processing apparatus which actually processes the sheet. The timing information is edited on each sheet processing apparatus by considering, for example, transit time of the sheet, processing time of the sheet, preparation time for the sheet to get ready to be processed, and the like. The second sheet processing apparatus transmits the timing information to the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus determines the discharge timing of the sheet based on the received timing information and discharges the sheet with the determined discharge timing.

摘要： A sheet conveying system which is capable of preventing a jammed sheet from being mixed with processed sheets, reducing waste in sheets and toners, and further alleviating the user's operations, when jamming has occurred during passing of a sheet between respective sheet conveying devices of upstream and downstream apparatuses. A puncher control section of a puncher as an upstream apparatus of the system issues a passing completion notification as to the passing of a sheet to a staple stacker control section of a staple stacker as a downstream apparatus of the system. Upon reception of the notification, when the staple stacker control section determines that the parameter of auxiliary information of the notification indicates an abnormal discharge of the sheet from the puncher, the staple stacker stops the conveyance of the sheet.
