摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a rotatable photosensitive member; a charging member for electrically charging the photosensitive member; a power source for applying a DC voltage to the charging member; an irradiation member for irradiating with light a surface of the photosensitive member; and a controller for controlling the irradiation of the light by the irradiation member. The photosensitive member is movable at a first speed and a second speed slower than the first speed. The irradiation of the light by the irradiation member is effected when the photosensitive member is moved at the first speed to effect image formation, and is not effected when the photosensitive member is moved at the second speed to effect the image formation.

摘要: A heat-sensitive stencil sheet consisting of a porous substrate and a thermoplastic film adhered to the substrate is provided without no use of an adhesive. The porous substrate comprises a screen cloth wholly or partially consisting of conjugate fibers (a sheath-core type or a side-by-side type) one exposed component of which has an affinity with the thermoplastic resin film and having a melting point lower than that of the other component of the conjugate fiber and lower than that of the thermoplastic resin, and the screen cloth is adhered to the thermoplastic resin film through the exposed component. The heat-sensitive stencil sheet can be produced by superposing the thermoplastic resin film on the substrate and heating under pressure the superposed film and substrate at the softening point or higher of the above exposed component of the conjugate fiber and at a temperature lower than the melting point of the other component of the conjugate fiber and lower than the melting point of the thermoplastic resin.

摘要: The present invention provides recombinant promoters that drive tissue-specific expression, and transgenes comprising such recombinant promoters. Specifically, the invention provides transgenes comprising a recombinant promoter that drives tissue-specific expression of a heterologous nucleic acid molecule in a floral organ. The invention also provides methods for using such transgenes to produce a protein in a host cell or transgenic plant. The invention further provides methods for producing a transgenic plant that produces, for example, longer-lasting flowers, better fragrance, or better or longer-lasting color as compared to a wild type plant.

摘要: The present invention relates to the altering or controlling inhibition of gene expression in a cell using a methodology involving a dsRNA. The use of the method in plants and plant cells has been found to be particularly beneficial. For example the inhibition of a hormone signaling gene in a plant, such as the EIN2 gene, permits the modulating of flower longevity in the selected plant. This is accomplished by using our RNAi technology in inhibiting the expression of an ethylene-modulated gene or an ethylene signaling gene in plants and plant cells. This method provides for the use of RNAi technology in inhibiting the expression of a hormone signaling gene in a plant, particularly in the floral parts of a plant. Thus, one can modulate flower longevity in a plant.
