Abstract:
A cleaning device for a recording and/or reproducing apparatus including a rotary head device having a drum carrying a magnetic head, with a magnetic tape being used as a recording medium. The cleaning device includes a cleaning member abutted against the magnetic head of the rotary head device for cleaning the magnetic head and an actuating mechanism for causing the cleaning member to be abutted against the magnetic head in the rotating state of the rotary head device. The actuating mechanism causes the cleaning member to be abutted against the magnetic head in the rotating state of the rotary drum prior to the loading of the magnetic tape on the rotary head device by the tape loading mechanism, and releases abutment of the cleaning member against the magnetic head when loading the magnetic tape by the tape loading mechanism on the rotary head device. The magnetic head is cleaned each time the magnetic tape is loaded.
Abstract:
A tape cassette comprises a cassette housing having an upper section, a lower section, a pair of reel hubs rotatably accommodated therein for winding a magnetic tape therearound, and a front opening through which the tape is engageable with a recording and/or reproducing head. The lower section is formed with a pair of openings for respectively receiving reel shafts for rotating the hubs and thereby driving the tape, and the upper section is formed with a recess. A tape player with which the cassette cooperates is provided with a holder for the cassette, with a loading hook engageable in the recess in the upper cassette section, and with an arrangement of cams and levers for moving the loading hook between an ejection position wherein the tape cassette can be manually inserted partway into or removed from the cassette holder and a loaded position wherein an inserted cassette is fully drawn into the holder, and for moving the holder between an upper position wherein a cassette can be loaded into or ejected from the holder and a lower position wherein a cassette loaded into the holder engages a tape drive.
Abstract:
A magnetic tape cassette is provided with a pivotal closure lid pivotably secured to both sides of a casing for movement between a closed position, in which the front opening of the casing, through which a magnetic tape is accessible for loading onto a rotary head, is covered, and an open position wherein the closure lid is pivoted away from said opening to expose the tape while the cassette is in use. The magnetic tape cassette is also provided with a sliding closure member slidably mounted on the bottom of the casing and cooperative with the aforementioned pivotal closure lid. The sliding closure member is in a closed position while the pivotal closure lid is in its closed position, in which it covers a bottom clearance through which a device constituting part of a tape holding system is inserted, and in an open position while the pivotal closure lid is in its open position to allow the aforementioned device of the tape handling system to reach into the casing through the bottom clearance. A locking pin holds the sliding closure in the current one of its two positions. The sliding closure holds the pivotal closed while in its own closed position.

Abstract:
An optical disc recording and/or reproducing apparatus includes a carrier mechanism, an optical pickup apparatus, a shutter and a moving mechanism. The carrier mechanism carries a disc inside and outside the apparatus. The optical pickup apparatus radiates beams on a disc carried by the carrier mechanism. The optical pickup apparatus is provided with an objective lens. The shutter exposes or closes the upper surface of the objective lens. The shutter is provided to the optical pickup apparatus so that the shutter can be moved between a first position for exposing the upper surface of the objective lens and a second position for closing the upper surface of the objective lens. The moving mechanism moves the shutter between the first position and the second position according to recording and/or reproducing operation.
Abstract:
A slider lock mechanism for locking a slider slidable along a chassis to set a plurality of modes in a tape player comprises a slider drive unit for transmitting a rotational force of a motor to the slider via a plurality of disc gears for moving the slider; spring biasing means for biasing the slider to return when the slider reaches a pressure contact position; and a braking mechanism including an electromagnetic actuator for braking one of the disc gears by energization of the electromagnetic actuator in the pressure contact position.
Abstract:
A magnetic tape cassette recording and/or reproducing apparatus is provided with a novel loading system which includes a magnetic tape cassette holder movable at least horizontally between an eject position wherein the cassette holder extends from the front face of a housing of the recording and/or reproducing apparatus and a loading position wherein the cassette holder is retracted within the housing and the magnetic tape cassette is in its set position. The cassette holder is cooperative with a cassette actuating means which moves a pivotal front closure lid and a sliding lower cassette face closure member of the magnetic tape cassette between open and closed positions. The cassette actuating means is active during the movement of the cassette holder between the eject position and the loading position to open and close the pivotal closure lid and the sliding closure lid of the magnetic tape cassette.
Abstract:
