A naming convention of the first group communication system allows at least one name which contravenes a naming convention of the second group communication system. A communicator is joined to the second group communication system. The communicator was previously joined to the first group communication system and has a first name at the first group communication system. The communicator has a second name at the second group communication system. The second name can be requested from the second group communication system. The second name can also be generated by applying an algorithm to the first name. A processor performs translation between the first name and the second name in a communication between the communicator and the second group communication system. The translation is performed based on a translation data structure.

    摘要: A scavenging device for recapturing charged carrier particles from a moving image-bearing surface includes a first pickup member and a second pickup member. The first pickup member is mounted adjacent toner and carrier particles on the image-bearing member, and is biased electrically to a polarity relatively opposite to the polarity of the charged carrier particles. The second pickup member is also mounted adjacent toner and carrier particles on the image-bearing member to be effective at a point downstream of the first pickup member. The second member, as such, is electrically grounded for capturing from the image-bearing member wrong sign carrier particles.

Preferably, the apparatus has a finite duplex return path which can hold a limited number of receiving sheets, which number is small enough that offset does not occur while doing first side-duplex fusing.

    摘要: Magnetic brush development apparatus for applying developer material to a latent electrostatic image in which flow of developer material, distributed in balance across the length of the apparatus, is assured. The apparatus includes a housing having a portion defining a sump adapted to contain a supply of developer material. A magnetic brush is located substantially within the housing in spaced relation to the sump portion for applying developer material to the latent image. A feed mechanism, located within the housing between the sump portion and the magnetic brush transports developer material from the sump to the magnetic brush. An agitating and transporting mechanism, located in said sump portion, agitates developer material and transports developer material to the feed mechanism. In the preferred embodiment the agitating and transporting mechanism is a ribbon blender. In order to assure the desired balanced developer material distribution in the apparatus housing under all conditions, a magnet is attached to the external wall of the housing adjacent to the sump portion.

    摘要: In electrographic apparatus a latent image on a flexible photoconductor is developed with toner particles at a development station and subsequently transferred to a receiver sheet, such as a copy sheet, and then fused to the sheet. Sometimes unwanted particles are on the photoconductor, including the area where an image is to be developed on the photoconductor. These particles are removed by a magnetic brush system located closely adjacent the surface of the photoconductor prior to the charging station. A biased ski located under the photoconductor presents the photoconductor to the cleaning nap at a predetermined uniform pressure and a desired distance, so that the photoconductor is uniformly cleaned and buffed.
