摘要： A water brake dynamometer includes a water brake having a stator housing with a rotor disc mounted on a through shaft. Water is pumped into the interior of the housing as the shaft and rotor are driven by an external engine. Momentum interaction transfers force between the rotor and stator housing. The planar surfaces of the opposing surfaces of the rotor housing are substantially identical as are those of the stator. A measuring device has been provided to measure the torque transferred from the rotor to the stator housing.

摘要： The disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for perforating the shells or husks of whole kernel feed grains such as shelled corn, grain sorghum, millet and the like, without shattering the kernels or destroying the germ, so that the moisture content of the treated grain can be rapidly altered.The method comprises the steps of wetting the exterior of the kernels with water to partially plasticize the husk, treating the kernels so that the husks separate partially from the interior portion of the kernels in the form of blisters and then perforating the blisters. The treated kernels may then be subjected to other steps to attain a desired result.Such steps may comprise heating the kernels to dry the grain for storage, wetting the grain to increase its moisture content preliminary to feeding it to animals; wetting it with liquid food supplements, antibiotics, etc., wetting it preparatory to controlled fermentation of the grain and the like.

摘要： An improved grain discharge chute for a hopper type grain wagon is attached to the wagon adjacent the side discharge door. The grain chute pivots between a side discharge position and a bottom discharge position. When in the side discharge position, the grain chute guides the grain from the hopper discharge door outwardly from the side of the wagon. The chute may be pivoted to a second position wherein grain discharged from the side door is diverted downwardly and inwardly beneath the wagon by the chute.

Water from a reservoir is directed into the housing as the shaft and rotor are driven by an external engine. Means are provided to measure the torque transferred from the rotor to the stator housing. An adjustable, unitary valve mechanism controls the rate water is directed into the housing from the reservoir and removed from the housing for return to the reservoir. The valve mechanism includes a single stem having multiple valve members operated by a single hydraulic piston control.
