The intervertebral spacer may further include a first insertion face, a second face, and two recesses disposed at the ends of the body. The recesses may each be defined by a first extension, a second extension, and an end wall. Each of the two fastener ties may be secured to the first extension at a first end and a second end may be fastenable to the second face. The ties may pass around a spinous process in part and hold the spinous process within a recess. The first extension of the body may have a height relative to the bottom wall of the recess that is no greater than the height of the second extension.
