摘要:
A transverse connector for coupling between first and second elongate members of a spinal stabilization system. The transverse connector includes a connector arm, a first coupling assembly proximate a first end of the arm, and a second coupling assembly proximate a second end of the arm. The first and second coupling assemblies are secured to the connector arm through a plurality of mating engagement features, such as dovetail grooves.

The present application discloses transverse connectors that are connectable to first and second rod members that extend along a length of the spine. The transverse connectors are capable of gripping first and second rod members that are at different distances relative to one another, as well as at non-parallel angles relative to one another. In some instances, the first and second rod members can be bottom-loaded into the transverse connectors, while in other instances, the first and second rod members can be side-loaded into the transverse connectors.

A spinal implant comprises a first member. A fastener is connected with the first member. A second member includes a deformable element engageable with the fastener such that the second member is translatable relative to the fastener in a first axial direction and translation of the second member relative to the fastener in a second axial direction is resisted and/or prevented. Systems and methods are disclosed.

Implantable devices are provided for stabilizing adjacent vertebrae and the lumbosacral region of a patient. The devices can comprise an interspinous flexible spacer body having a substantially U-shape comprising a superior section, inferior section, and a midsection extending therebetween. The superior and/or inferior sections can include a pair of lateral walls configured to engage a spinous process of a vertebra. Fixation caps can be provided for securing a spinous process of a vertebra to the flexible spacer body. To secure the flexible spacer body between the lumbar vertebra and an adjacent vertebra, an anchor assembly is provided. Also provided are methods of using the implantable devices to stabilize a patient's spine.

A system includes an implant with an articulation surface, a fixation member which may be anchored in a bone, and a base portion which may receive the fixation member. The base member may comprise a bone-engaging portion and an attachment portion. The base member may receive the fixation member such that a threaded portion of the fixation member and the bone-engaging portion of the base member may be seated in the bone. The implant may be attached to the attachment portion of the base member. The base member may be configured in a variety of shapes and may include fins, teeth, pegs or other anti-rotation features, and may include a bone ingrowth surface. The attachment portion may be tapered and attachable to the implant through a taper-lock.

Spinal implants for limiting flexion of the spine are implanted between a superior spinous process and an inferior spinous process or sacrum. The implants include upper straps which are placed over the upper spinous process, while the lower portions of the implant are attached to the adjacent vertebra or sacrum. The attachments may be fixed, for example using screws or other anchors, or may be non-fixed, for example by placing a loop strap through a hole in the spinous process or sacrum.

A system for replacing at least a portion of a natural facet joint includes a fixation member implantable in a vertebra, an inferior facet articular surface and an inferior strut which may be formed separately from the inferior articular surface. The inferior strut has a first end securable to the fixation member and a second end which may comprise a sphere with a hemispherical surface. An attachment mechanism may include a capture feature shaped to receive the second end of the inferior strut, and the mechanism may provide an adjustable configuration, allowing polyaxial adjustment between the inferior articular surface and the second end. A locking member may be actuated to exert force on the second end to provide a locked configuration. The system may further include a superior facet joint implant with a superior articular surface shaped to articulate with the inferior articular surface.

A stabilization device includes a first bone anchoring element, a second bone anchoring element, and a rod-shaped element for connecting the first and the second bone anchoring elements. The rod-shaped element includes a curved section, that undergoes an elastic deformation under the action of a force acting on the rod-shaped element via an anchoring element. The rod-shaped element and the anchoring elements are arranged so that deformation occurs when a force acts in a main direction of motion of bone parts or vertebra relative to each other, whereas a deformation is suppressed when a force acts in a direction that is essentially perpendicular to the main direction of motion.

A facet joint replacement system includes an inferior implant with an inferior articular surface, a superior implant with a superior articular surface and may include a crosslink extending across a vertebral sagittal plane. The inferior implant may comprise an inferior strut, and a polyaxially adjustable, lockable mechanism which may couple the inferior articular surface with a first end of the inferior strut, and couple the inferior articular surface with the crosslink. A second end of the inferior strut may be secured to a polyaxially adjustable, lockable fixation assembly securable in a vertebra. The superior implant may be secured to a polyaxially adjustable lockable fixation assembly securable in a vertebra. The positions of the inferior articular surface and the first end of the inferior strut are independently translatable along a medial-lateral axis of the vertebra prior to lockout by the lockable mechanism. The crosslink may be placed into the lockable mechanism from a posterior approach.
摘要:
An implant support device associated with succeeding spinal vertebrae, including a harness exhibiting a plurality of legs, each extending from a rotatable bearing or suitable interconnecting support. Each of the legs terminates in an angled tang, this being engaged with a surface of a selected vertebrae. Additional features include undercut portions defined between the legs and arcuate/hemispherical mounting locations surrounding the bearing in individually rotatably permitting fashion. Inter-vertebral support cushions are also positioned between succeeding vertebrae, and can be incorporated with or provided separately from the web support harnesses.
