摘要: Multi-layered absorbent bodies and methods of manufacture are disclosed. An absorbent body may comprise a top, liquid permeable covering material, a bottom covering material, a reinforcing material disposed between the top covering material and the bottom covering material, the reinforcing material bonded directly to the top covering material by a first adhesive layer and bonded directly to the bottom covering material by a second adhesive layer, and superabsorbent material disposed between the top covering material and the bottom covering material, wherein between about 30% and about 85%, by weight, of the total amount of superabsorbent material disposed between the top covering material and the bottom covering material is stabilized within the reinforcing material, as determined according to the SAM Stabilization Location Test Method.

摘要: A garment-like absorbent article can have a front region, a back region, and a central region extending between and connecting the front region and the back region. The front region and the back region of the absorbent article can be formed from a combination of elastic materials. The combination of the elastic materials can be asymmetrically configured about the absorbent article to provide an improved fit of the absorbent article to the body of the wearer as well as to provide the wearer with an absorbent article that resembles traditional woven underwear.

摘要: An absorbent article can have a topsheet layer, a backsheet layer, and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet layer and the backsheet layer. The topsheet layer can be formed of a topsheet material having an opacity of at least 40%. The backsheet layer can be formed of a backsheet material having an opacity less than 30%. A portion of the area of the topsheet layer is defined by openings within the topsheet layer. The opacity of the topsheet layer can make tire openings visible to the wearer of the absorbent article and identify to the wearer that the absorbent article lias the desired attribute of breathability. Additionally, the openings can have a minimum size such that the color of the wearer's undergarment can be visible through the openings and through the backsheet layer thereby providing tire wearer with an absorbent article having the desired attribute of discretion.

摘要: An absorbent article which can have an improved feeling of comfort next to the skin of the wearer and a reduction in the feelings of wetness and rewet. An absorbent article can have a longitudinal direction, a transverse direction, and a depth direction. The absorbent article can have a topsheet layer, a backsheet layer, and an absorbent core positioned between the topsheet layer and the backsheet layer. The topsheet layer can have a hydrophilic central layer, a semi-hydrophilic first side layer, and a semi-hydrophilic second side layer. Each of the semi-hydrophilic side layers can be bonded to the central layer utilizing an embossing technique in the regions of overlap of each of the semi-hydrophilic side layers with the central layer. The area of the body-facing surface of each of the regions of overlap can contain from about 10% to about 35% of at least one embossment.

摘要: Multi-layered absorbent bodies and methods of manufacture are disclosed. A method of forming an absorbent body may comprise moving a first covering material in a machine direction, moving a reinforcing material in the machine direction and combining the reinforcing material with the first covering material, the reinforcing material having a top side and a bottom side, applying absorbent material comprising superabsorbent particles to the top side of the reinforcing material, moving a second covering material in the machine direction and combining the second covering material with the first covering material and the reinforcing material to form a laminate structure of the first covering material, the reinforcing material, and the second covering material, with the first covering material disposed underneath the reinforcing material and the second covering material disposed on top of the reinforcing material, and embossing the laminate structure.
