摘要： An apparatus for making a multilayer absorbent element apt to be incorporated in a sanitary article is provided. The apparatus has an embossing roller bearing a plurality of protruding elements, a pierced roller bearing a plurality of protruding elements and cavities, and a unit of cohesion and drilling. The configuration of the apparatus is such that, after a first layer of sheet material is deformed by the embossing roll and the perforated roller continues to slide on the pierced roller, a second layer of sheet material is superimposed. The first and second layer of sheet material are then carried to the joining and piercing unit in which, at the intermediate zones of the first layer, it forms a plurality of holes passing through the first and second layer and joins them near or at the plurality of holes.

摘要： A method for making a high topography nonwoven substrate includes generating a foam including water and synthetic binder fibers; depositing the foam on a planar surface; disposing a template form on the foam opposite the planar surface to create a foam/form assembly; heating the foam/form assembly to dry the foam and bind the synthetic binder fibers; and removing the template from the substrate after heating the foam/form assembly, wherein the substrate includes a planar base layer having an X-Y surface and a backside surface opposite the X-Y surface; and a plurality of projection elements integral with and protruding in a Z-direction from the X-Y surface, wherein the projection elements are distributed in both the X- and Y-directions, and wherein the density of a projection element is the same as the density of the base layer.

摘要： An absorbent article comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and a layer of absorbent material interposed between the topsheet and the backsheet, wherein the layer of absorbent material (28) comprises superabsorbent polymer. The absorbent article further comprises a lower acquisition and distribution system with at least one nonwoven or woven layer, the lower acquisition and distribution system being interposed between the layer of absorbent material and the backsheet. The absorbent article has a first zone corresponding to 800 μm starting from and including the topsheet and extending towards the backsheet, and a second zone corresponding to 800 μm starting from and including the backsheet and extending towards the topsheet. The amount of liquid in the first and second zone is very small as measured by the NMR test method set out herein.

The absorbent article can minimize the amount of body exudates in contact with a wearer's skin and can minimize the incidence of leakage of body exudates from the absorbent article. The benefits of the absorbent article are achieved, in part, by a body facing material having features that help minimize contact of body exudates with the wearer's skin while also being constructed so that the body facing material does not stick to the wearer's skin in use. The body facing material includes a plurality of hollow projections, a plurality of apertures and bonded areas. The bonded areas may be formed with adhesive or by mechanical bonds.

摘要： An absorbent article can have a target acquisition region which is the region of the absorbent article wherein initial acquisition of body exudates from the wearer of the absorbent article should occur. To identify the target acquisition region for the wearer of the absorbent article, the target acquisition region is defined by and bounded by a perimeter formed of individual embossment points. To provide the wearer of the absorbent article with the knowledge that the absorbent article will be able to capture and store their body exudates, the absorbent article has a second perimeter formed of individual embossment points positioned between the perimeter defining the target acquisition region and the edge of the absorbent core. A minimum distance between an embossment point of the first perimeter and an embossment point of the second perimeter is at least 6 mm.
