A method for removing isoflavones from a soy-based beverage is disclosed. The method includes processing a soy base by subjecting ground or milled soy beans to one or more of sonic vibration and ultrahigh pressure homogenization. The soy base is separated, using centrifugation, into a lipid phase substantially free from isoflavones and a serum phase containing isoflavones. One or more isoflavones are separated from the serum phase. The serum phase is mixed with the lipid phase.

The multilayer film includes at least one barrier layer comprising at least one vinylidene chloride polymer and protecting layers on each side of the barrier layer. The multilayer film preferably has at least one UV protecting layer and optionally at least one reflective layer.

Methods are provided for making dried protein-diacylglycerol oil (DAG oil) compositions, for incorporation into food products. A protein-containing ingredient in liquid form is combined with DAG oil, and the mixture is then spray-dried. Dried protein-DAG oil compositions are also provided.
