The invention is especially suitable for recognizing adhesive objects, in particular adhesive tape and joints, on bank notes since areas of a bank note with adhesive tape or joints differ very distinctly in their thermal properties from other areas of the bank note without adhesive tape.

摘要: The invention concerns a device and a method for examining magnetic properties of objects, in particular of sheet material such as for example bank notes. Therein the invention proceeds from a device and a method for examining magnetic properties of objects with a magneto-optical layer having magnetic domains, the optical properties of the magneto-optical layer being influenced by the magnetic properties of the object to be examined, at least one light source for the generation of light incident upon the magneto-optical layer, and at least one sensor for the reception of light which is transmitted and/or reflected by the magneto-optical layer, with a magnetic filed in the area of the magneto-optical layer which extends substantially parallel to the surface of the magneto-optical layer.

摘要: The invention relates to apparatus for examining magnetic properties of objects, in particular sheet material, such as bank notes (20). The apparatus comprises a magneto-optic layer (10) whose optical properties are influenceable by the magnetic properties of the sheet material (20), a light source (11) for producing light that is coupled into the magneto-optic layer (10), and a detector (13) for detecting light that is transmitted and/or reflected by the magneto-optic layer (10). For reliable examination of the magnetic properties of sheet material it is provided that the direction of propagation of the coupled-in light extends parallel to a base surface (9) of the magneto-optic layer (10). The invention permits the magnetic properties in particular of sheet material with areas emitting very weak magnetic fields to be examined with very high sensitivity and reliability.

摘要: The invention relates to a security element for securing value documents which has magnetic material. Further, the invention relates to a value document, a transfer material and a method for checking such a security element or value document. Along the security element, for example along a longitudinal direction of the security element, there are disposed one or more, maximally five, magnetic areas and one or more, maximally five, gap areas. The extension of the magnetic areas or the gap areas along the security element is preferably chosen so great that the magnetic signals of adjacent magnetization steps that arise upon transport of the security element past the magnetic sensor interfere constructively with each other.

摘要: The invention relates to a security element for securing documents of value. Along the security element a portion of a magnetic coding with first and second coding elements is arranged. The coding elements are arranged along a predetermined direction, wherein the first coding element continuously has along the predetermined direction a first magnetic region with a first coercive field strength and the second coding element has at least one first gap region and one second magnetic region with a second coercive field strength. At least one of the first magnetic regions is directly adjacent to at least one of the second magnetic regions. The sum of the lengths of the directly adjacent first and second magnetic regions amounts to a maximum of 8 mm.

摘要: The invention relates to a security element for protecting documents of value, which has magnetic material. A portion of a magnetic coding is arranged on the security element, which coding consists of several magnetic areas and several gap areas. The portion of the magnetic coding is arranged in a predetermined direction along the security element, for example perpendicularly to a transport direction of the security element or document of value through a magnet sensor. Concerning the length of the magnetic areas and of the gap areas of the magnetic coding, certain length conditions are predetermined, which are chosen in dependence on the magnet sensor employed.

摘要: Forged bank notes are no longer reliably distinguishable from bank note originals (BN) on the basis of their luminescent fibers. According to the invention, the excitation of the fibers to luminescence is effected by means of excitation radiation (S) from the restricted wavelength range from 600 to 640 nm or from 520 to 550 nm, since the forgeries do not luminescence in this range but the originals luminescence red. Detection is therefore effected in the wavelength range from 640 to 700 nm.
