摘要: An electroluminescent device comprises a combination of a charge-transporting conjugated donor compound and a acceptor compound, the charge-transporting conjugated donor compound including a conjugated unit comprising a multivalent radical sub-unit having a first and a second unsaturated radical site and a shortest chain of unsaturated atoms connecting the first and the second radical site. The number of unsaturated atoms the shortest chain consists of is an odd integer, preferably 1. Such odd-integer sub-units provide the donor compound with lowest-energy triplet levels which are relatively high in energy which in turn enable the EL device, when the donor compound is combined with a suitable acceptor compound, to emit light with high efficiency. For example, highly efficient green light-emitting electroluminescent devices are obtained in this manner.

摘要: A polymeric carbazole compound comprising a monomer unit of formula (I): is disclosed, wherein x and y are equal to zero or 1, and n is an integer equal to or larger than zero. P represents a phenyl group, and C1, C2 and C3 represent carbazole units. The derealization of the triplet wave function over the biphenyl structure is decreased by introducing twists in the polymer backbone at the location where the two carbazole units are connected, whereby the triplet energy is increased. The twist is introduced by substituents, e.g. methoxy or 3,7-dimethyloctyloxy. The polymeric carbazole compound may be used as a semiconducting material. The semiconducting material may be used as a host matrix for luminescent emitters.

摘要: A light-emitting device comprising an anode; a cathode; a light-emitting layer arranged between said anode and said cathode; and a buffer layer, comprising a conducting polymer and a polymeric acid, arranged between said anode and said light-emitting layer, is disclosed. Acidic groups of said polymeric acid have been converted to non-acidic groups in at least a part of said buffer layer, which minimises acid quenching of photoluminescence. A method for manufacturing such a device is also disclosed.
