摘要: A solenoid control apparatus includes a resin housing having a solenoid mounting portion, a connector portion, and a circuit board mounting portion in which a circuit board is mounted. Terminals extending from the solenoid mounting portion and the connector portion are soldered to the electrical circuit on the circuit board. The circuit board has a reduced-rigidity portion in its area corresponding to a portion of the resin housing through which the connector portion is connected to the solenoid mounting portion. The reduced-rigidity portion is formed by reducing the amount of material forming the circuit board per unit area, and is more easily deformable than the remaining portion of the circuit board. When the connector portion is thermally deformed, the circuit board is also easily deformable about the reduced-rigidity portion. This reduces stress on the soldered portions.

摘要: An optical scanner is disclosed wherein coded bars are scanned by a laser beam to effect reading of a bar code of the coded bars. The optical scanner includes a rotary polygon mirror having a plurality of reflecting portions provided thereon around an axis of rotation thereof for reflecting a laser beam from a light source toward coded bars. Each reflecting portion of the rotary polygon mirror has a plurality of reflecting faces having different inclination angles from each other with respect to the axis of rotation such that an inclination angle of a line of intersection between adjacent reflecting faces of each reflecting portion with respect to the axis of rotation is different from an inclination angle of a line of intersection between adjacent reflecting faces of each of adjacent ones of the reflecting portions on the opposite sides of the reflecting portion with respect to the axis of rotation. Where the rotary polygon mirror of the construction is used, a scanning pattern which is constituted from scanning lines of various directions can be obtained from the rotary polygon mirror. The optical scanner can thus be reduced in overall size and production cost of the device.

摘要: A compact type bar code reader for detecting a bar code symbol provided on a surface of an article. The bar code reader includes a laser beam generation unit for generating the laser beam to be irradiated onto a bar code symbol, and a focus unit for determining a focus of the laser beam, and a scanning pattern forming unit for forming various scanning patterns of the laser beam. The bar code reader also includes a light reflection unit for reflecting the laser beam to and from the bar code symbol, a light collection unit for collecting the laser beam reflected from the bar code symbol, and a light reception unit for receiving the laser beam collected by the light collection unit, and converting it to an electrical signal. The above units are included in a casing so that the laser beam generation unit, the focus unit, the light collection unit, and the light reception unit are arranged at a lower portion of the casing, and the scanning pattern forming unit and light reception unit are arranged at a lower portion of the casing. The light path of the laser beam is formed in such a way that an emitted light path from the laser beam generation unit to the bar code symbol becomes considerably long, and a reflected light path from the bar code symbol to the light reception unit becomes shorter than the emitted light path.

摘要: A flat cutting tool includes a blade member fixed to a mounting concavity of a base member using a brazing filler metal or an adhesive agent to form a cutting edge on a surface layer side of the blade member. The blade member includes a surface layer which is a high-speed tool steel with a high degree of hardness, a middle layer which is an alloy steel having a lower quench-hardenability than the high-speed tool steel, and a lower layer which is a mild steel having little quench-hardenability, which can be formed by forge welding. The blade member can be quenched and tempered, and the surface layer hardened to a hardness suitable for the cutting tool and fixed to the mounting concavity of the base member.

摘要: Units having a beam-scanning function, and a light-receiving function and a photoelectric-conversion function are separated from the main-body of a stationary-type bar code reader as a separable unit. The separable unit is detachably mounted on the main-body unit. The separable unit is mounted on the main-body unit for use as a stationary-type reader when a product on which a bar code is printed is relatively small and light. When a product is large or heavy, the separable unit is separated from the main-body unit for use as a hand-held reader. This improves the operability of the bar code reader and eliminates the need to equip a stationary bar code reader and a hand-held bar code reader separately.
