摘要: A braking mechanism includes a wedge selectably engageable with a guide rail, and a frictional surface defined on the wedge configured for selective engagement with the guide rail in an overspeed condition. The frictional surface includes a friction coating of polycrystalline blocky diamond material. An elevator system includes an elevator car, a guide rail along which the elevator car travels, and a braking mechanism located at the elevator car and selectably engageable with the guide rail to slow or stop travel of the elevator car along the guide rail. The braking mechanism includes a wedge having a frictional surface configured for selective engagement with the guide rail in an overspeed condition. The frictional surface includes a friction coating of polycrystalline blocky diamond material.

摘要: A method and apparatus for mounting optical components is described. The apparatus is suitable for mounting multiple optical components and comprises a baseplate having opposing first and second surfaces. Recesses or apertures are formed within the baseplate and are located upon the first or second surfaces so as to define thermally activated optic mounting areas. Pillars are then located within the thermally activated optic mounting areas and these provide a means for attaching the optical component to the baseplate. The employment of the recesses or apertures act to significantly reduce the thermal conduction throughout the baseplate. As a result preferential heating can be provided to the one or more thermally activated optic mounting areas while maintaining the baseplate with a desired mechanical strength. The optical mounting apparatus exhibits a high thermal stability thus making the apparatus ideally suited for use within commercial optical system.

摘要: A heating, ventilation, and/or air conditioning (HVAC) packaged unit includes a first refrigerant circuit component configured to change a temperature or a pressure of a refrigerant flowing through the first refrigerant circuit component and a second refrigerant circuit component configured to change a temperature or a pressure of the refrigerant flowing through the second refrigerant circuit component. The first and the second refrigerant circuit components are within a common refrigerant circuit that is disposed within a common support structure. The HVAC packaged unit also includes an interconnection conduit having a length formed from aluminum, a first end segment coupled to a first end of the length, and a second end segment coupled to a second end of the length. The first end segment and the second end segment are each formed from copper, and the interconnection conduit extends between the first refrigerant circuit component and the second refrigerant circuit component.
