    Abstract: A system and a method to prevent the use of pirate products in an elevator control are provided. The system includes at least one elevator control, an updating mechanism and a connection between the elevator control and said updating mechanism. The elevator control includes essential electronic components provided with their own ID. An authorization section, which is configured to read the IDs of the essential electronic components, includes a reference list with allowed IDs, a comparator and a switching logic configured to issue an authorization signal for the elevator control to start or prevent operation of the elevator control depending on the comparison result of the comparator. The connection between the elevator control and the updating mechanism is configured to initiate the elevator control to update the IDs of the essential electronic components in the elevator control.

    Abstract: An elevator communication system includes a first elevator controller; a second elevator controller; and a first ethernet bus portion connected to the first elevator controller, the first ethernet bus portion having sequential bus segments interconnected by at least one switch. The first ethernet bus portion is arranged in a first elevator shaft. A second ethernet bus portion is connected to the second elevator controller and includes sequential bus segments interconnected by at least one switch. The second ethernet bus portion is arranged in a second elevator shaft. A switch of the first ethernet bus portion and a switch of the second ethernet bus portion are interconnected to enable data transmission between the switch of the first ethernet bus portion and the switch of the second ethernet bus portion. The first elevator controller is communicatively connected to the second elevator controller.

    Abstract: The invention refers to a method for accessing an passenger transportation device control means comprising several separated printed circuit boards (PCB), whereby each of these PCBs comprises a unique identifier (ID), and in which method the passenger transportation device control means comprise a matching table which is used by the passenger transportation device control means to perform a matching test to check the identifier of at least two of the PCBs and to put the passenger transportation device control means into normal operation only if their IDs match the IDs of the matching table. A service technician connects via a key to the passenger transportation device control means, which key enables the service technician to set the passenger transportation device control means into a fault finding mode, in which fault finding mode the passenger transportation device control means are initiated to skip the matching test before getting into operation, whereby the fault finding mode is terminated at the latest when the service technician terminates the key-based connection with the passenger transportation device control means.

    Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided an elevator communication system. The system comprises an ethernet bus, a safety master node communicatively connected to the ethernet bus and configured to communicate via the ethernet bus, and safety slave nodes communicatively connected to the ethernet bus and configured to communicate via the ethernet bus. The safety master node and the safety slave nodes are configured to communicate by using a time-triggered communication protocol. In the time-triggered communication protocol the safety master node is configured to send a polling diagnostic request message to the safety slave nodes by using a predetermined polling cycle.
