Abstract: A brake, which includes a frame part of the brake, an armature part movably supported on the frame part, and attached to the frame part a limit switch, the switching state of which changes when movement is exerted on the limit switch in the operating direction of the limit switch. The brake also includes a measuring pin that is movably supported on the frame part of the brake and that is separate from the armature part, which measuring pin is connected to the limit switch.

Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided an elevator car parking brake comprising brake pads and an actuator configured to move the brake pads with respect to a guide rail. The elevator car parking brake further comprises levers, each having an associated brake pad; and at least one screw associated with the actuator and rotatably fixed to at least one lever via at least one attaching member. In a braking operation, the actuator is configured to rotate the at least one screw in a first direction with respect to the at least one attaching member, thus causing the levers with the brake pads to move towards the guide rail. In a brake release operation, the actuator is configured to rotate the at least one screw in a second direction with respect to the at least one attaching member, thus causing the levers with the brake pads to move away from the guide rail.

Abstract: According to an aspect, there is provided an elevator car parking brake comprising a brake carrier having a first plate and a second plate, the plates being spaced from each other and positioned to enable a guide rail to travel within the space between the plates, a caliper movably connected to the brake carrier, brake pads, and an actuator configured to move the brake pads against a guide rail in a braking operation. The elevator car parking brake further comprises at least one first compression spring arranged between the first plate of the brake carrier and a brake pad directly associated with the actuator; and at least one second compression spring arranged between the second plate of the brake carrier and the caliper, the first and second compression springs being configured to keep the brake pads substantially centered with respect to the brake carrier.

Abstract: In an elevator system, so as to avoid unwanted safety gear tripping, the kinetic energy, which is caused by inertia of the overspeed governor rope to the lever arm, is dissipated by implementing fluid viscous damping to dampen the rotary movement of the spindle shaft to prevent unwanted safety gear tripping in the event when the upwards movement of the moving mass is decelerated by a machinery brake to perform a quick stop of the moving mass. The fluid viscous damping is effected by a viscous fluid damper which is arranged in the synchronization linkage mounted to the moving mass.
