    摘要: The present embodiments relate to a particle therapy system having an accelerator unit for providing a particle beam and having a particle beam transport system for guiding the particle beam. The particle beam transport system has a first subarea by which the particle beam can be guided out from a level of the accelerator unit. A gantry-based radiation room is connected to the first subarea of the particle beam transport system. The present embodiments may also relate to a particle therapy system having foundations, where the foundations are dimensioned at one point such that a gantry-based radiation room can be retrofitted at the one point. In particular the foundations at the one point are located essentially at the same height as the foundations underneath an accelerator unit and/or underneath a particle beam transport system.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing directly reduced, desulfurized iron in a multiple-hearth furnace which comprises two zones arranged one above the other and each having several hearths. Iron ore is reacted with a reducing agent in a first zone of the multiple-hearth furnace at a temperature ranging from 800° C. to 1100° C. to obtain metallic iron. In addition, the gases are desulfurized using desulphurizing agents, whereby the directly reduced iron is discharged from the multiple-hearth furnace and the desulfurized gases are guided into a second zone where the iron ore is preheated to a temperature ranging from 600° C. to 800° C.

A beam shaping device which can be disposed in a beam path of the particle beam shapes a cross-sectional profile of the particle beam, the beam shaping device being implemented such that, after shaping, the particle beam has a line-like cross-sectional profile. A controller varies the relative position of the particle beam and target volume during an irradiation run, the controller being implemented such that, by changing the relative position, the particle beam with the line-like cross-sectional profile can be scanned over the target volume to be irradiated. A line-like cross-sectional profile of a particle beam is formed for guiding a particle beam. A trajectory of the particle beam is variably changed in a direction parallel to the beam trajectory direction.

In the method, a target volume (6) within a test object (14; 18) is irradiated with a particle beam (16) using the particle irradiation unit (20) according to the irradiation plan. The radiation plan is determined in order to apply the energy of the particle beam (16) according to a predetermined dose distribution in the target volume (6), the target volume (6) and the predetermined dose distribution being pre-set. When determining the irradiation plan, irradiation duration is also taken into account, the irradiation plan being determined such that the irradiation duration is as short as possible.

    摘要: A coke oven offtake piping system includes a pipe assembly for conveying coke oven gases from a coke oven to a collecting main, at least one spraying nozzle in the pipe assembly, and a discharge section with a discharge pipe having a discharge orifice. A gate member cooperates with the discharge orifice and is movable along the discharge orifice in order to present a closing surface to the extremity thereof, whereby the opening area of said discharge orifice can be varied for controlling the flow rate to the collecting main. The gate member is a spherical cap with a concave closing surface. The gate member is configured to pivot around a pivoting axis to expose the discharge orifice and to cover the discharge orifice, respectively.

The particle beam application apparatus comprises a first collimator for shaping a cross-sectional profile of a particle beam entering the collimator, whereby the first collimator has an aperture which is customized to a target volume to be irradiated, and a magnet system for deflecting the particle beam which is arranged in the beam path of the particle beam downstream of the first collimator, whereby the magnet system can be used to generate a magnetic field with which the particle beam can be fanned out spectrally. The invention also relates to a radiation device having such a particle beam application apparatus, and a method for guiding a particle beam in which a particle beam is customized to a target volume by means of a collimator and is then directed by means of a magnet system, as a result of which the particle beam is cleansed of scattered radiation.
