摘要： Method and apparatus for calibrating a rechargeable battery for mobile telephones and other electronic devices. Calibration is accomplished during a process of completely charging the battery by determining the total amount of charge accepted by the battery during the charging process, and providing a value of total charge capacity of the battery based, at least in part, on the total amount of charge accepted by the battery. The total charge capacity of the battery is used to calculate remaining battery capacity and to predict the remaining operational time of the device. Alternative calibration procedures are provided if the battery is not completely discharged before charging or if the battery is not fully charged by the charging process. The calibration procedures of the invention require no interaction from a user (other than his initiating the normal charging process), and typically permits a calibration to be carried out notwithstanding varying usage habits of different users.

摘要： A voltage/current regulator regulates charging of a rechargeable battery in a portable apparatus that includes a transistor and a controller means coupled to the transistor for controlling the charging current to the battery. The controller determines the power dissipation in the transistor of the regulator. If the power dissipation is above a maximum allowed power dissipation, the controller decreases the charging current by a particular current step. Otherwise, the controller determines if the power dissipation will exceed the maximum allowed power dissipation if the charging current is increased by the current step. If not, the controller increases the charging current by the current step.

The apparatus includes a pair of rotatable press rolls installed in vats and including a press nip therebetween, an inlet for feeding the pulp to the press nip, with one of the press rolls being movable in relation to the other and in which the processing of the pulp is determined by the number of variable operating parameters. The method includes utilizing the distance between the press rolls as a variable operating parameter, setting a desired value for a specific control parameter, measuring the specific control parameter, and adjusting at least two of the variable operating parameters during operation to maintain the difference between the desired value and the measured value of the specific control parameter below a predetermined difference. Systems for controlling this apparatus are also disclosed.

摘要： Apparatus for washing and dewatering cellulose pulp is disclosed comprising: a rotatable press roll having a perforated outer surface for dewatering the pulp; a stationary guide surface arranged at a distance from the perforated outer surface so as to enclose the press roll in the circumferential direction, such that a substantially closed vat is defined between stationary guide surface and the press roll; a pulp passage, being provided between the perforated outer surface and its stationary guide surface, such that during operation, pulp is transported in the direction of rotation and, at the end of the pulp passage, is pressed in a pinch between the press roll and a second press roll. A radial distance between the stationary guide surface and the associated press roll is generally increasing towards the pinch, such that the vat diverges, towards the pinch.

摘要： An apparatus for inhibiting the oscillation of a vertical crane or similar structure with a horizontal main jib supporting a load hoist apparatus. The main jib has a counter jib which supports a counterweight mass by a linkage system. The linkage system permits the counterweight mass to swing through an arc so that it dampening the swinging movement of the crane. 摘要： A hardware device register is written without transferring the register content from the hardware device to a host device over an interface bus for modification. The hardware device receives an address identifying the target register included in the hardware device and bit information associated with a write operation involving the target register from the host device over the interface bus. The bit information is stored in a second register included in the hardware device and also dedicated for supporting write operations. The target register is accessed based on the address stored in the first register dedicated for supporting write operations and one or more bits of the target register are written based on the bit information without first transferring the register content to the host device over the interface bus.
