    摘要： Disclosed is a process for preparing an aqueous ink composition which comprises adjusting the pH of the ink with phosphorous acid or phosphite salts. Also disclosed are ink compositions prepared by this process. In certain preferred embodiments, the ink compositions can also contain betaine, sulfolane, dimethyl sulfoxide, or N,N'-bis(3-aminopropyl)-1,2-ethylenediamine, as well as mixtures thereof. In other preferred embodiments, the ink composition comprises an organic component selected from the group consisting of sulfolane, dimethyl sulfoxide, and mixtures thereof, and anions selected from the group consisting of phosphite, hypophosphite, phosphate, polyphosphate, sulfate, hexafluorophosphate, glycolate, acetate, ethylenediaminetetraacetate, formate, borate, sulfite, sulfamate, and mixtures thereof.

    摘要： Disclosed is a printing process which comprises applying in imagewise fashion to a substrate an ink composition which comprises an aqueous liquid vehicle, a colorant, and a drying component selected from the group consisting of zwitterionic compounds, and subsequently exposing the substrate to microwave radiation, thereby drying the images on the substrate. In a preferred embodiment, the invention is directed to a thermal ink jet printing process which comprises (1) incorporating into a thermal ink jet printing apparatus an ink composition which comprises an aqueous liquid vehicle, a colorant, and a drying component selected from the group consisting of zwitterionic compounds; (2) heating the ink in an imagewise pattern to cause bubbles to form therein, thereby causing droplets of the ink to be ejected in an imagewise pattern onto a substrate, thereby generating images on the substrate; and (3) exposing the substrate to microwave radiation, thereby drying the images on the substrate.

    摘要： An electrostatographic method and apparatus for developing an electrostatic latent image on an imaging surface, comprises a charging doner member which is preferably a rotatably mounted roll closely spaced from the imaging surface at one portion and having a housing means to be filled with toner positioned adjacent the doner member at another portion together with a web screen located in the housing and adapted to contact the donor member on the portion of its surface opposite the imaging member; the donor member having a surface comprising an active polymer having a basic amine moiety whereby when the donor roll is rotated the rubbing contact between the toner, the screen means and the donor member produces negatively charged toner particles. In a preferred embodiment the active polymer having a basic amine moiety is selected from poly(2-vinylpyridine), poly(4-vinylpyridine), polyvinylpyrolidone, poly (dimethyl aminoethyl methacrylate) and the toner includes a minor amount of fumed silica additive.
