Abstract: A solar collector includes a roller rotatably attached to a vehicle. A carrier fabric panel is attached on one end to the roller. Side guides are attached the sides of the carrier fabric panel. Solar cells are connected in series and are attached to the carrier fabric panel. The solar cells are connected to an electrical power storage system. Electrical leads are attached to the carrier fabric and electrically coupled to the solar cells. Electrical conductors are attached to the carrier fabric between the solar cells and the right and left guides or are provided with retainer strips. A slip ring connector is disposed on the roller for electrically coupling the electrical conductors to an electrical power storage system. The solar energy collected may be used to power actuatable accessories or passive systems that may draw power when the vehicle is not being operated.

The leather trim cover assembly includes a leather upper layer and a foundation layer secured to the leather upper layer at radio-frequency weld points. The radio-frequency weld points define at least one design boundary adjacent a raised portion of a protruding design in the leather trim cover assembly.

Abstract: A control system for controlling operation of a vehicle system is described. The control system includes a trim cover textile configured to cover at least a portion of a vehicle component and having an electrically conductive element configured to provide a capacitive touch functionality. In response to a user touch, the electrically conductive element generates a signal representative of a user command for the vehicle system. The system also includes a control unit adapted to be provided in electrical communication with the electrically conductive element of the trim cover. The control unit is configured to receive the user command signal and, in response, generate a control signal to effectuate control of the vehicle system.

The cushion pivots at a cushion pivot axis to an access position to access a lower console formed along an interior surface of the seat bottom cushion.

In certain embodiments, the mold tool has at least one tool insert that is configured to create the at least one narrow trench with a substantially constant width in the cushion.

Abstract: A vehicle seat includes an illuminated graphic feature. The vehicle seat includes an occupant support. The vehicle seat also includes a light source supported on the occupant support. A cover layer is located in the illumination direction from the graphic image. An illuminated graphic feature is visible through the cover layer when the light source is activated.
