Abstract: A laser distance meter forming a handheld device comprising a housing, an electro-optical distance measurement unit arranged in the housing for ascertaining at least one measured distance between the laser distance meter and a target object in a measurement direction, and a camera having a field of view in the measurement direction. A deflection unit is disposed in the housing for the angular deflection of the measurement direction and an operating and input arrangement for operating at least the distance measurement unit and the camera. A control unit at the housing is configured to activate the distance measurement unit and the deflection unit such that a series of measured values of the measured distance are recorded in different deflections along a path of the deflection, and a subsequent selection of the measured distances from the series of measured values is carried out using the operating and input arrangement.

Abstract: A method comprises detecting at a plurality of light-receiver units, an impingement position of the light plane on a photo sensor that has a known relative position in relation to the surface, determining, for each light-receiver unit and based on the impingement position and the known relative position, a crossing position value of the light plane with respect to the surface, performing a combined analysis of the crossing position values from the plurality of light-receiver units to derive alignment information comprising the deviation of the alignment of the surface of the structure relative to the light plane, and displaying the alignment information to a user. The invention also relates to computer programme product, a light-receiver unit and a system comprising a plurality of light-receiver units for performing the method.

Abstract: A sensor module for connection to a handheld rangefinder instrument and for providing sensor data for the rangefinder instrument includes an electronic interface for connection to an applicable interface of the rangefinder instrument, and at least one electronic sensor component for generating the sensor data. A system for the handheld measurement of distances to a surface region of an object includes a sensor module of this kind and a handheld rangefinder instrument having a first laser rangefinder. When the interfaces are connected to one another, the sensor module is configured for transmitting the sensor data to the rangefinder instrument, and the interfaces are configured for transmitting electric power from the rangefinder instrument to the sensor module, in which the sensor module is configured to operate the at least one sensor component by means of the electric power transmitted by the rangefinder instrument.
