Abstract:
Provided are a display device and a touch sensing method of a display device. The display device includes a timing controller temporally dividing one frame period and driving a display panel such that a display mode for displaying an image in the display panel and a touch mode for sensing a user's touch are alternately driven, and a touch sensing unit detecting the user's touch with a touch raw data difference between adjacent touch sensing blocks in the touch mode. In the display mode, the touch sensing unit generates a display compensation value for compensating for an error of the touch raw data due to a differential of display data applied to the adjacent touch sensing blocks to detect the user's touch.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a display device. The display device includes a timing controller and a touch sensing unit. The timing controller temporally divides one frame period and drives a display panel such that a display mode for displaying an image in the display panel and a touch mode for sensing a user's touch are alternately driven. The touch sensing unit detects the user's touch with a DTX compensation value calculated by multiplying a DTX weight value and a maximum DTX amplitude of a touch sensing block which is obtained when a maximum grayscale value is applied to a plurality of pixels corresponding to the touch sensing block, in the touch mode. The DTX weight value is calculated by substituting an average value of grayscale values applied to the plurality of pixels corresponding to the touch sensing block into a normalization curve.

Abstract:
A touch screen display device is discussed. The device uses common electrodes, which are formed for display images, as touch electrodes. In a display interval, the common electrodes receive a common voltage and allow images to be displayed. In a touch sensing interval corresponding to a non-display interval of a single frame of plural frames, the common electrodes are driven as the touch electrodes and allow a touch position to be sensed. When the touch sensing interval is terminated, the data voltages which had been applied to the data lines before the touch sensing interval are re-applied to the data lines. As such, when a succeeding display interval starts after the touch sensing interval, the reduction of charging voltage in a pixel can be prevented or reduced. Therefore, a picture fault or an image fault can be prevented.

Abstract:
Disclosed are a display device integrated with a touch screen and a method of driving the same, the display device comprising: a touch panel comprising a touch electrode which is disposed in each of a plurality of pixels defined by intersections between a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines; a display driver supplying data voltages for displaying an image to the respective pixels during a display period, and supplying an initialization data voltage for initializing a capacitance of the touch electrode to each pixel during a touch sensing period; and a touch driver sensing the capacitance of the touch electrode to detect a touched position during the touch sensing period. The display device integrated with the touch screen and the method of driving the same according to the present invention initialize capacitances of the touch electrodes to the same value irrespective of image data of the pixels being changed from black to white during the display period, thus preventing the occurrence of a touch error due to a screen change.
