Abstract: An electroluminescent display and a method of driving the same are disclosed. The electroluminescent display includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels electrically connected to a plurality of data lines and a plurality of gate lines. Each pixel includes a driving element adjusting a current of a light emitting element depending on a gate-to-source voltage, and a switching element supplying a second voltage to the driving element in response to a gate-on voltage of an emission control signal. The switching element is turned off in response to a gate-off voltage of the emission control signal during a real-time compensation time. A source voltage of the driving element is changed during the real-time compensation time.

Abstract: A display device can include a substrate including an active area including a plurality of sub-pixels and a non-active area, a plurality of light-emitting elements disposed in the plurality of sub-pixels, a plurality of data lines disposed in the active area, a plurality of data link lines disposed in the active area and configured to transmit a data voltage to the plurality of data lines, driving transistors disposed in the plurality of sub-pixels, and a shielding layer disposed on the driving transistors to overlap a conductive layer connected to a source electrode of one of the driving transistors. A constant voltage can be applied to the shielding layer and thus, the occurrence of screen spots can be reduced in the display device.
