Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a display device and a method for driving the same. The display device includes: a timing controller which receives a dimming value from the outside, determines a dimming band corresponding to the dimming value, and generates and outputs an image data and a data driving control signal; a data driver which outputs, on the basis of the data driving control signal, a data signal corresponding to the image data; and a display panel which displays an image corresponding to the data signal.
