    Abstract: Disclosed is a signal processing device, method of enhancing image signal, and an image display apparatus including the same. The signal processing device and the image display apparatus comprises: an image analyzer configured to receive a first image signal corresponding to displaying at least an object and a background, identify information of the object from the first image signal, and identify information of the background from the first image signal, and an object stereoscopic effect enhancement unit for enhancing the first image signal and configured to determine a sharpness of the object using the identified information of the object, increase contrast of the object to enhance the first image signal using the identified information of the object based on the determined sharpness, decrease luminance of the background in the enhanced first image signal using the identified information of the background based on the determined sharpness, and output the enhanced first image signal. Accordingly, a stereoscopic effect of an object may be enhanced.

    Abstract: Disclosed are a signal processing device and an image display apparatus including the same. The signal processing device of an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a quality calculator configured to calculate an source quality of an image signal received from an external settop box or a network; an image quality setter configured to set an image quality of the image signal based on the calculated source quality; and an image quality processor configured to perform image quality processing on the image signal based on the set image quality, wherein in response to the source quality of the received image signal being changed at a first time point, the image quality setter changes an image quality setting sequentially from a first setting to a second setting; and based on the image quality setting, the image quality processor performs image quality processing. Accordingly, flicker may be reduced when an image quality is changed due to a change in the source quality of the received image signal.

    Abstract: An image display apparatus is disclosed. The image display apparatus includes a current calculator configured to calculate pixel current of an input image, an accumulated current calculator configured to calculate accumulated current of the input image, and an afterimage reducer configured to output a second brightness level less than a brightness level of the input image with respect to a detection region if a level of the accumulated current is equal to or greater than a reference value. Thus, the lifespan of an image display apparatus including an organic light emitting diode panel is increased.
