Abstract: Provided is an air conditioning apparatus. Abstract: An air conditioner and a control method for an air conditioner are provided. The air conditioner may include a compressor, a flow switch installed at an outlet side of the compressor, a first guide pipe extending from the flow switch to an outdoor heat exchanger, a second guide pipe extending from the flow switch to an indoor unit, a third guide pipe extending from the outdoor heat exchanger to the indoor unit, a bypass passage extending from the second guide pipe to the third guide pipe to allow at least a portion of the refrigerant in the second guide pipe to be bypassed to the third guide pipe or to allow at least a portion of the refrigerant in the third guide pipe to be bypassed to the second guide pipe, and a bypass valve installed on the bypass passage.

Abstract: An air conditioner including a hot gas line for receiving a portion of refrigerant compressed in a compressor, an indoor heat exchanger, an outdoor expansion device for expanding the refrigerant having exchanged heat in the indoor heat exchanger, an outdoor heat exchanger functioning as a condenser in a cooling mode while functioning as an evaporator in a heating mode, and a 4-way valve for receiving a remaining portion of the compressed refrigerant, to guide the refrigerant emerging from the compressor to the outdoor heat exchanger in the cooling mode and to the indoor heat exchanger in the heating mode. The outdoor heat exchanger includes a main heat exchanger section functioning as a condenser in the cooling mode while functioning as an evaporator in the heating mode, and an auxiliary heat exchanger for receiving the refrigerant from the hot gas line in a frosting prevention mode.

Abstract: An air conditioner is provided that may include at least one compressor that compresses a refrigerant to a high pressure; a plurality of heat exchanger that condenses the refrigerant compressed in the at least one compressor; a plurality of outdoor valves, respectively, provided at an outlet side pipe of the plurality of heat exchangers; a gas liquid separator that separates the refrigerant into gas and liquid refrigerants and supplies the gas refrigerant to the at least one compressor; and one or more bypass devices connected to the outlet side pipe of one or more of the plurality of heat exchangers and an inlet side pipe of the gas liquid separator, the one or more bypass devices controlling a flow of the liquid refrigerant. During a cooling low load operation in which a portion of the plurality of heat exchangers is operating, a liquid refrigerant loaded into a heat exchanger of the plurality of heat exchangers, which is not operated, may flow through the one or more bypass device.
