    Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for systems and methods for improved LIDAR return light capture efficiency. One example method may include emitting, by an emitter, a first light pulse in a first path. The example method may also include transmitting, by a polarizing beam splitter in the first path and aligned with an aperture of a reflective element, a portion of the first light pulse, wherein the reflective element is disposed of in the first path. The example method may also include reflecting, by a reflective surface of the reflective element, a second light pulse in a second path, the second light pulse including a return pulse based on the first light pulse being reflected from an object. The example method may also include detecting, by a detector, the detector disposed in the second path of the second light pulse.

    Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods are provided for rapid laser recharging. A pulse emitting device may include an emitter to emit pulses, a first capacitor to provide pulses to the emitter, a second capacitor to charge the first capacitor, a first gate and a second gate to control the flow of current to the capacitors and the emitter, and a power supply configured to supply energy associated with the pulses. When the first gate is open, the first capacitor charges a first pulse of the pulses. When the first gate closes, the emitter emits the first pulse. When the first gate opens, the second gate closes and the second capacitor charges the first capacitor with a second pulse of the pulses. When the second gate opens after the second capacitor charges the first capacitor with the second pulse, the first gate closes and the emitter emits the second pulse.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for multi-detector LIDAR and methods. An example method may include emitting, by a light emitter of a LIDAR system, a first light pulse. The example method may also include activating a first light detector of the LIDAR system at a first time, the first time corresponding a time when return light corresponding to the first light pulse would be within a first field of view of the first light detector. The example method may also include activating a second light detector of the LIDAR system at a second time, the second time corresponding a time when return light corresponding to the first light pulse would be within a second field of view of the second light detector, wherein the first light detector is configured to include the first field of view, the first field of view being associated with a first range from the light emitter, and wherein the second light detector configured to include the second field of view, the second field of view being associated with a second range from the light emitter.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are disclosed for a vibrated polarizing beam splitter for improved return light. An example method may involve emitting, by an emitter, a first light pulse. The example method may also involve reflecting, by a polarizing beam splitter in a first position, the first light pulse, wherein the polarizing beam splitter is at a first angle of incidence in the first position. The example method may also involve adjusting, subsequent to the polarizing beam splitter reflecting the first light pulse, a position of the polarizing beam splitter from the first position to a second position, wherein the polarizing beam splitter is at a second angle of incidence in the second position. The example method may also involve transmitting, by the polarizing beam splitter, a return light pulse through the polarizing beam splitter, the return light pulse based on the first light pulse.
