A method for transmitting wireless power from a wireless power transmitter, the method can include performing a negotiation process with a wireless power receiver for generating a negotiated power transmission condition, the negotiation process including receiving a request signal from the wireless power receiver to retrieve a capability of the wireless power transmitter, the capability including an available amount of power of the wireless power transmitter, transmitting the available amount of power to the wireless power receiver, in response to the request signal, to allow the wireless power receiver to determine a demanded amount of power based on the available amount of power of the wireless power transmitter, and subsequently, receiving the demanded amount of power as the negotiated power transmission condition from the wireless power receiver; and transmitting wireless power to the wireless power receiver based on the negotiated power transmission condition when the demanded amount of power is allowable by the wireless power transmitter based on the capability of the wireless power transmitter.

The wireless power transmitter for transmitting power to a wireless power receiver in a wireless scheme, includes a transmission circuit unit converting power supplied from a power supply unit into power having a frequency for resonance; a transmission induction coil coupling the converted power; and a transmission resonance coil disposed adjacent to the transmission induction coil to transfer the coupled power from the transmission induction coil to the wireless power receiver using the resonance, wherein the transmission circuit unit is vertically spaced apart from the transmission resonance coil.

The present invention relates to a wireless power transmission method and a device therefor. A wireless power transmission method in a wireless power transmission device for wirelessly transmitting power to a wireless power reception device according to an embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: transmitting a first detecting signal; determining whether an object exists in a charge area, by measuring the amount of current change in the first detecting signal; transmitting a second detecting signal for identifying the wireless power reception device when the object exists as a result of the determination; and determining whether a foreign material exists on the basis of whether a feedback signal corresponding to the second detecting signal has been received, wherein when the foreign material is determined to exist, a predefined allowable value compared to the amount of current change in order to determine whether the object exists can be updated. Therefore, the present invention can provide a wireless power transmission device that can minimize heat generation and waste of power.

The coil includes a plurality of cell groups and a core which connects the cell groups with each other. Each of the cell groups includes a plurality of cells. Each of the cells is configured such that magnetic field generated by currents flowing through the cells are formed in a same direction. Each of the cell groups is adjacent to at least one cell group. Each of the cell groups and the core are configured as one conductive wire.

The present invention relates to a location checking method and apparatus for a wireless power receiver. A method for controlling a wireless power transmitter according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise the steps of: transmitting power to a wireless power receiver identified using ping signals that are transmitted during a first time; halting power transmission to the identified wireless power receiver during a pre-determined time if a power transmission halt condition is satisfied; after the pre-determined time has passed, transmitting ping signals to the wireless power receiver during a second time that is shorter than the first time; receiving acknowledgement signals with respect to the ping signals from the wireless power receiver during the second time; and determining whether the wireless power receiver is located in a charging region using the acknowledgement signals.

A wireless power reception method of a wireless power receiver for receiving power from a wireless power transmitter is disclosed. The wireless power receives a connection signal for identifying the wireless power receiver from the wireless power transmitter; transmitting a response signal in response to the connection signal to the wireless power transmitter; negotiating a power transmission condition with the wireless power transmitter; and receiving the power using resonance frequency band according to the negotiated power transmission condition. Furthermore, frequency band for exchanging information used for the power reception is different from the resonance frequency band. In addition, the negotiating of the power transmission condition comprises: receiving first state information of the wireless power transmitter from the identified wireless power transmitter, and transmitting second state information to the wireless power transmitter, the second state information being determined from the wireless power receiver based on the first state information of the wireless power transmitter.
