Abstract: A computing system is provided comprising a processor is configured to execute an augmented reality avatar program to receive a second-user avatar-data object and second-user pose information, via a computer network, receive an image from a live image feed captured by a camera of the computing device, identify a virtual surface corresponding to a physical surface that appears in the image; calculate a position and a pose of a second-user avatar relative to the virtual surface based on the second-user pose information, render the second-user avatar-data object to thereby display the second-user avatar of the second user superimposed upon the image. The second-user avatar is anchored to the virtual surface according to the calculated position and pose of the second-user avatar. The virtual surface is world-locked to the physical surface in the image in a real world 3-D environment.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes techniques for designing effects. A first window comprising a first copy of a first scene may be created. The first scene comprises a first visual effect. A second window comprising a second copy of the first scene may be created. The first window and the second window are configured to enable testing and comparison of different versions of the first visual effect in the first scene at an approximately same time. The first copy of the first scene in the first window may be modified based on a first change to at least one attribute of the first visual effect in the first copy of the first scene. The second copy of the first scene in the second window may be modified based on a second change to at least one attribute of the first visual effect in the second copy of the first scene.

Abstract: Systems and methods directed to rendering a dynamic eyelash attachment to an eye identified in a video are described. In examples, a dynamic eyelash template may be applied to a video, where the dynamic eyelash template configures an eyelash skeleton that includes eyelash skeleton branches. Further, the video with one or more video frames may be received such that eye keypoints associated with a shape of the eye in the video frames can be identified. Accordingly, the eyelash skeleton branches may be attached to areas corresponding to eye keypoints based on the dynamic eyelash template. A three-dimensional rotation of the eyelash skeleton branches may be configured to conform to the shape of the eye defined by the eye keypoints during an eye movement. Thus, a dynamic effect can be added to the eyelash skeleton to allow the eyelash skeleton branches to rotate and bounce during the eye movement.
