Abstract:
A method and system are provided for storing and communicating a personal notification and information in the event of an emergency. An individual a personal identification item (such as a bracelet or an identification card) is kept on the individual's person and includes information for sending an emergency alert to a host computer system via a mobile user computer device. The individual is prompted to provide personal information for storage by the host computer system, which includes medical information associated with the individual and emergency contact information for one or more contact persons. The host computer system receives an emergency alert from the user computer device, and in response uses the emergency contact information to automatically communicate information relating to the emergency alert to the one or more contact persons such as by emails and texts messages. The emergency alert can be a missing person alert or an accident alert.
Abstract:
A cordless telephone-to-sound card interface adapter provides a connection between any standard cordless telephone system and a sound card of a computer for PC-to-PC or PC-to-telephone voice communications over the Internet. The interface adapter includes a hybrid transformer circuit for interfacing a two-wire circuit of the cordless telephone and a four-wire circuit of the computer sound card. This hybrid transformer circuit cancels out the voice echo that would otherwise exist due to mismatched impedances between the two media and/or from leakage of the signal being transmitted and received on the same pair of telephone lines. A Universal Serial Bus (USB) plug may be provided to receive a bias voltage from the PC for biasing circuits of the cordless telephone system through the interface adapter. Advantageously, the preferred interface adapter utilizes 100% passive components for a low-cost yet effective means to provide mobility for an end user during voice communications over the Internet.
Abstract:
A method and article for obtaining blood samples from a small animal wherein a disposable lancet device is used to optimize the humane collection of blood from the cheek-pouch of said small animal. The lancet device is a hand-held, generally flat lancet, having a handle portion at one end and a flat V-shaped point at its other end; the flat point has a length in the range of 4.0 to 6.0 mm.
Abstract:
A double ended container comprising an inner built-in wall which creates two mirror image ends in one single container. Optionally it can be made of any size and shape. It can be made of any material, durable and non-durable.
Abstract:
A double ended, tissue-wipe dispenser comprising a cylinder with an inner wall which creates two cylinders in one, constructed of a durable material in a shape small enough to be portable and which could be placed in any cupholder of a motor vehicle. Optionally, it may be refillable and/or disposable and/or waterproof. Optionally, it can be made of any size or shape. It is self standing on either end.
Abstract:
An eyeglass holder attachable around the neck of, or to an article of clothing worn by the user for supporting a pair of eyeglasses. The eyeglasses are supported facing away from the user by the bridge and folded stems of the eyeglasses. A biasingly extendable retaining member elastically holds the bridge from substantial movement while enhancing adaptability of the device to a very broad range of eyeglass sizes and shapes. A support member which receives the bridge of the eyeglasses preferably includes a length of deformable wire or the like molded within, and extending at least part way through, the upright member and the support member which allows the support member to be repositioned for better eyeglass stem support and retention.
Abstract:
Two or more similar containers that can be joined together to form one. Optionally, of any size and shape. They could be made of any material, durable or non-durable.
Abstract:
A self sealing letter sheet that obviates the need for an envelope, and that is suitable for feeding into any type of printer. Thus, different embodiments are possible for continuous and non-continuous fed printers, which can be efficiently processed, as the message and addressing information are readily printed in one single step, and requiring only one trip across the printer, which is achieved by one single computer command by the user. In general terms, different facing sections of the letter sheet have layers of adhesive and layers of a release substance arranged in such a manner that when they are in contact with one another, the layers of adhesive face the layers of release, allowing a temporary sealing, and then the positioning of another section of the letter sheet between the facing sections, enables the sealing of the letter sheet. Discretionarily, the letter sheet can also be processed manually.
Abstract:
An eyeglass holder attachable to an article of clothing worn by the user for suspending a pair of eyeglasses. The eyeglasses are suspended facing upwardly and supported by the bridge of the eyeglasses with the temples either open and downwardly extending or folded closed. When open, the temples are supported from substantial movement against the body of the user. A biasingly positionable retaining member holds the bridge from substantial movement as well. One embodiment (preferred) holds the temples in the closed position for better protection thereof.
Abstract:
A Drone Landing Pad (DLP) allows landing a drone or delivering a parcel and includes an interior platform which lowers into the DLP or a cushioned interior platform, and an upper platform above the interior platform which opens to receive parcels and closes to protect parcels. The DLP may include two way communication with drones to provide a DLP position and receive drone position and ETA. The DLP position may be programmed into a DLP processor, or may be a GPS position when the DLP is movable to different locations. An optical landing aid may be provided to guide the drone to the DLP in a safe and reliable manner and confirm the DLP, for example an optical landing aid affixed or painted on the DLP. The DLP may be equipped with solar paneling for self-sustaining continuous charge or include battery backup and direct power options to ensure safe delivery.
