Abstract: A driving tool including a first mode wherein a mechanical starting control is performed, and a second mode wherein an electrical starting control is performed, where these modes are configured to be switchable. Only in the second mode, if the elapsed time between the on-operation of a trigger and an on-operation of a contact arm does not exceed a reference time T0, then a second actuation portion can be turned to an on-position to perform a driving operation. In the first mode, in contrast to the electric control, without consuming battery power, the driving operation can be performed by the mechanical control that is made by an operational order of the trigger and subsequently the contact arm. Because of this configuration, even if power supply is shut off, the driving operation by the first mode can be continued.

Abstract: A driving tool including a timer assembly less susceptible to heat operates at a stable operating speed. The driving tool includes a trigger, a contact arm, and a timer assembly that operates in response to the trigger moving to a trigger-on-position with the contact arm remaining at an arm-off-position. The timer assembly includes a flywheel rotatable in response to the trigger moving to the trigger-on-position, and a contact restrictor movable between an unlock position at which the contact restrictor allows the contact arm to move to an arm-on-position and a lock position at which the contact restrictor restricts the contact arm from moving to the arm-on-position. The contact restrictor takes a predetermined period to move from the unlock position to the lock position in response to the trigger moving to the trigger-on-position. The predetermined period is defined by an inertial force generated by rotation of the flywheel.

Abstract: A driving tool having a trigger, such that after the trigger is on-operated, a contact restriction member starts to rotate to a lock side while rotation resistance is applied thereto by a rotation resistance applying member. A lock portion enters a lock receiving portion to prohibit an on-operation of a contact arm after a reference time has passed after the on-operation of the trigger. As a result, an inadvertent driving operation can be prevented. A mechanical timer mechanism allows for a timer control to be effected under an environment where electric power cannot be supplied.
