    Abstract: A reciprocating tool includes a body housing, a handle member and an elastic member. A first one of the body housing and the handle member includes a first coupling part, while a second one includes a second coupling part. The first coupling part includes an internal space, and an opening that communicates with the internal space and an outside space of the first coupling part. At least a portion of the second coupling part protrudes into the internal space through the opening and is movable relative to the first coupling part in the front-rear direction within the opening. The elastic member is disposed in the internal space and is configured to bias the first coupling part and the second coupling part such that the body housing and the handle member are biased away from each other in the front-rear direction.

    Abstract: A hammer drill includes a boss sleeve rotatably and externally mounted to an intermediate shaft separately from the intermediate shaft. The boss sleeve includes a rod coupled to a rear end of a piston cylinder via a swash bearing. The boss sleeve is configured to rotate to convert a rotation of the intermediate shaft into a reciprocating motion in a front-rear direction of the rod and transmit the reciprocating motion to the piston cylinder. The hammer drill includes a second clutch disposed at the intermediate shaft. By performing a switch operation of a slide position of the second clutch, a hammer mode in which the second clutch is engaged with the boss sleeve to reciprocate the piston cylinder back and forth and another operation mode are selectable. The boss sleeve is rotatably cantilevered not to be in contact with the intermediate shaft by an inner housing via a bearing.

    Abstract: A power tool includes a motor having a motor shaft, a first intermediate shaft, and a second intermediate shaft extending in parallel to the first intermediate shaft. An output shaft removably holds a tool accessory and has a driving axis extending in parallel to the first and second intermediate shafts. A motion-converting mechanism converts rotation of the first intermediate shaft to linearly hammer the tool accessory. A rotation-transmitting mechanism transmits rotation of the second intermediate shaft to rotate the output shaft. A rotational axis of the motor shaft intersects, or is skewed relative to, the driving axis. A pair of first gears, e.g., bevel gears, operably couples the motor shaft to a first one of the first and second intermediate shafts. A pair of second gears operably couples the first one of the first and second intermediate shafts to a second one of the first and second intermediate shafts.

    Abstract: A reciprocating tool includes a motor, a motion converting mechanism, a body housing, an inner housing, a support body, and a counterweight. The motion converting mechanism is operably coupled to a motor shaft and is configured to convert rotation into a linear reciprocating motion along a driving axis. The inner housing is within the body housing and houses at least a portion of the motion converting mechanism. The support body is originally separate from the inner housing and is attached to the inner housing in the body housing. The counterweight is operably coupled to the motion converting mechanism and is configured to be driven by the motion converting mechanism. The counterweight is supported by the support body to be pivotable around a pivot axis that extends in a direction orthogonal to the driving axis. At least a portion of the counterweight is housed in the inner housing.
