Abstract:
A method and apparatus for measuring the impedance of a coaxial transmission line in which a coaxial line to be measured is connected in an intermediate portion of a cable having a known characteristic impedance, and after the cable is charged up to a certain voltage, the charge is discharged by a large-capacity high-speed switch through a resistive terminator having a resistor whose impedance matches the known impedance. The discharged pulse voltage waveform appearing across the terminals of the resistor is observed by an oscilloscope to measure the impedance of the coaxial transmission line.
Abstract:
A target assembly for storage tubes comprising a film of an organic compound of a resistivity of at least 1015 ohms-cm deposited on a 500- to 1500-mesh metal screen. The target assembly is prepared by depositing droplets of the organic compound on the screen, rotating it in a spinner to cause the droplets to drift sideways to fill out the interstices and heating the compound at 100* to 200*C for about 3 hours.
Abstract:
An electron gun assembly for a cathode-ray tube having a removable cathode-grid assembly which has a plurality of stem leads connected with the respective electrodes and led out to the outside at the stem and which is supported by multihold glass bars, and an anode and focusing electrode assembly which has a plurality of side leads connected with the respective electrodes and led to the outside from the side and which is supported by multihold glass bars.
Abstract:
A method and arrangement for photographing optical images such as oscillographic waveforms displayed on a faceplate of a cathode-ray tube, wherein a glass fiber screen is attached to the faceplate to form a display surface at the leading end of the glass fiber screen and a sensitized photographic film is placed directly upon the display surface of the glass fiber screen so that the images on the display surface are photographed on the film without use of a lens or lenses interposed between the film and the faceplate. The contact pressure between the film and the display surface is in operation maintained at a desired constant value through detection and conversion into electrical signals of the contact pressure for direct reading of the contact pressure.
