    摘要: A bottom portion of a metal tape is attached to an end portion of a helix. A coaxial inner conductor for input or output of a high frequency signal is fixed by its end portion being interposed between upright surfaces of the metal tape. The metal tape is joined to the coaxial inner conductor by being laser-welded to opposite side surfaces of the coaxial inner conductor.

    摘要: In a travelling wave tube, the delay line of which is coupled to a transmission line of an external microwave circuit by a coupling pin having a coupling surface that faces an end surface of the transmission line, a microwave window extends between the coupling surface of the coupling pin and the end surface of the transmission line. This window is permeable to the microwave energy and impermeable to the gases. It is fixed imperviously to the travelling wave tube.

    摘要: A travelling-wave tube has a cylindrical sleeve containing a delay line and a coupling device between the delay line and an external microwave circuit for removal or injection of microwave energy. This external circuit comprises a transmission line possessing a conductive internal core. A conductive part is placed at one end of the delay line. It has a coupling pin that projects inwards into the sleeve and is brazed to an end of the delay line. The conductive part is brazed to the sleeve. The coupling between the delay line and the external circuit is made between the part and the internal conductive core of the transmission line. This coupling is without contact, a narrow gap being prepared between the external surface of the part located on the side of the coupling pin and the internal conductive core.

    摘要: A traveling wave tube has a helical delay line which is supported by a plurality of dielectric support rods extending along the delay line. The delay line and support rods are housed within a metallic sleeve which has an enlarged diameter in the area of each end of the delay line. In this area at each end of the delay line a respective coupling conductor is connected to the delay line for supplying and discharging HF energy. In order to achieve a low reflection transition between the surge impedance of the delay line and that of the coupling conductor, in the region of at least one of the two ends of the delay line, a metallic matching component is provided which is peferably spot welded to a surface formed at the diameter enlargement, the matching component including an arm which is spot welded to that surface and projections extending from the arm radially inwardly between adjacent support rods and in close proximity to the delay line. The end surfaces of the projections which face the delay line are darkened to absorb heat radiated by the delay line and discharge the same toward the exterior of the traveling wave tube.
