Abstract: A stuffed talking toy representing a radio or other communication device that has an antenna, which is constructed for safe use by small children. The toy includes a flexible casing filled with a compressible stuffing, a phonograph within the casing of the type which has a spring motor that is wound by a pull cord, and a tube representing an antenna disposed on the casing. In order to prevent injury when a child brushes by the antenna, the antenna tube is not attached to the casing and therefore can be easily knocked over, but the pull cord extends through it and tension on the cord tends to maintain the antenna tube in an upright orientation. The phonograph within the casing is held away from the casing by a rigid tube through which the pull cord extends.

Abstract: A toy supermarket checkout stand with a rotatable turntable for holding goods and a constantly rotating sign over it, which uses a simple self-disengaging drive for the turntable. A drive roller for rotating the turntable, is fixed to a worm wheel that is rotated by a screw. The worm wheel is mounted on a frame that slides parallel to the axis of the screw so that the worm wheel is always engaged with the screw, the frame sliding between an engaged position wherein the drive roller engages the turntable and a disengaged position wherein it is disengaged from the turntable. The motor rotates the screw in a direction that urges the frame towards the disengaged position, so that there is automatic disengagement without the use of a spring, whenever a child is not pushing the frame towards the engaged position.

Abstract: A doll whose arms move in a manner to simulate hair washing actions, while shampoolike foam is produced in its hair, comprising a hollow doll body with a pair of upwardly extending arms, the body having elastic walls so that when a child repeatedly squeezes the sides of the body together, the arms move up and down. The head is hollow and has numerous threads that extend through hole therein to form hair. As the elastic body is squeezed, air is pumped through the thread-holding holes, and if a soap solution has been spread on the hair, the air flowing through the holes creates foam in the hair.
