    Abstract: A vehicle body structure includes a side sill having a closed cross-section portion, and a reinforcement body inside the closed cross-section portion and joined to the side sill. The reinforcement body comprises first and second reinforcement portions. The first reinforcement portion has a first bonding surface on the upper side and is joined to an inner wall of the closed cross-section portion at a portion other than the first bonding surface, and the second reinforcement portion has a second bonding surface facing the first bonding surface from above the first bonding surface, and is joined to the inner wall at a portion other than the second bonding surface. The first and second bonding surfaces are bonded together through a damping member made of an adhesive material. The first and second bonding surfaces are disposed at an inclination angle of 30 degrees or less with respect to a horizontal plane.

    Abstract: A front vehicle-body structure for appropriately dispersing a collision load includes a floor panel; a side sill; a floor frame extending in a front-rear direction on a vehicle-width-direction inner side of the side sill; and a first cross member connecting the side sill and the floor frame to each other in the vehicle width direction. The side sill has a raised wall and an upper wall portion positioned on the vehicle-width-direction inner side in a cross-section orthogonally intersecting with the front-rear direction and extending in an up-down direction, a corner extending in the front-rear direction is formed between the raised wall and the upper wall portion, and a first joint member and a corner reinforcement member that reinforce the raised wall and the corner are provided at a position to which the first cross member is connected in the front-rear direction on an inner side of the side sill.

    Abstract: Provided is a structure for a front part of a vehicle, including a vehicle main body, a pair of suspension support portions, and a cowl member connected to the pair of suspension support portions. The cowl member has: an inner part connection portion which has a shape extending continuously in a vehicle width direction between the pair of suspension support portions and which interconnects respective inner parts of the pair of suspension support portions in the vehicle width direction; and a water drain portion which is provided backward of the inner part connection portion in a front-rear direction of the vehicle and drains water toward a side part of the vehicle in the vehicle width direction. The inner part connection portion has a thickness larger than a thickness of the water drain portion.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a vehicle body member from a joined sheet. The joined sheet is press formed into a vehicle body member with a predetermined shape by: welding a second sheet material to a first sheet material at a plurality of points including a first joint and a second joint separated from each other; press forming the joined sheet so that a ridge crossing an imaginary line segment connecting the first joint and the second joint is formed in a portion where the first sheet material overlaps the second sheet material; and before the joining step, forming a displacement facilitating portion, which facilitates displacement of the second sheet material relative to the first sheet material in a longitudinal direction of the imaginary line segment, in a portion corresponding to between the first joint and the second joint in the second sheet material.

    Abstract: An instrument panel which is supported at a cowl panel at a front-side portion thereof is provided. The cowl panel includes an upper face wall which faces to a windshield from below, a bending portion which is formed at a rear end of the upper face wall and bendable in a vehicle collision, and a rear face wall which extends downward from the bending portion and has a lower portion connecting to a dash panel.
